Anxiety/Depression Issues .

I'm 21 Years Old and I'm MosaicNewman my mom has an enlarged heart and I think I'm going to have it soon because I smoke & the stress makes me feel like I need a Smoke everyday I just started around last year's October , I think the most smoke is enlarging my lungs and heart , My worst fear is having a heart condition , it feels like I'm trapped in a bullet proof box and no way of escape . I just want to be able to focus on basketball and I can't because I'll think I'm about to have a heart attack or Cardiac Arrest ?

Hi MosaicNewman, I am not a doctor or a nurse. But it does very much sound like anxiety that you are describing. And if you have been smoking for only a year then I think its unlikely that you have done severe irreversible harm to your health. Best wishes, muirbabe

Do you have access to a medical doctor? Since you are an athlete you probably have to get medical clearance to play. Have you talked with doctor about your health and concerns?
