Ive been off work for a few weeks with anxiety and generally feeling crappy,im due back in tomorrow but feel so anxious about it its hell i couldnt sleep last night and im dreading tonight,tempted to stay off again but i suppose im postponing the inevitable as ive got to go back eventually....im more stressed about my colleagues than the job! As my workplace is incredibly negative and has an effect on my mental health...also nobody takes anxiety seriously as they are all blokes .....help!!!!

Help! work is stressing me out!
I used to work somewhere I hated the people, the management, and the environment it sucked. I am so stubborn I tried to get used to it and toughen it out. Meanwhile, my anxiety was through the rough because I was stressed everyday. For some reason completely unrelated to the field I am in I had to identify bodies in the morgue. I hated every second and it was really messing me up. My husband told me to quit because I had lost so much weight I didn’t have an appetite or time to eat at work. I am not encouraging you to be a quitter but is there another job that would make you happy ? I am now at a place that respects what I do and there is no more morgue duty ( that has nothing to do with my field ). Finally there are no more negative people in my life. Even the management is great! That other job made me think I hated my career but really I just hated them. Hope this helps!
I had the best time working with all men, trust me you don't want to work with women it will be worse. You can't change your colleagues and you need to try to keep the job so just go in, once you're there, if you're not stressed about the actual job it won't be that bad.

Obviously sexism of any kind is not tolerated. Sexism is never humorous
Do you have a line manager who you are able to talk to about it ? I often find, having someone at work to talk to when I’m feeling crappy always helps my anxiety ! I also write down my thoughts in a little note book to get rid of my negative thoughts ! X
hi I was off work for 4 weeks when my dad died recently 3 in the build up for the funeral and 1 week after it.my work was toxic before it but I ended up going back early just to get into a routine again.me and my mate were ok as we both suffered but my boss just ignored me and that made it harder for me.but I kept going and seen the job through to the end.please go back it will do you good.
