Rescue remedy interactions

Can anyone tell me if Rescue Remedy interacts with Atenolol? I am becoming very anxious /panicky whilst awaiting my neurologist appointment next month. I just think I am doing ok and having good days but then my legs (and sometimes arms) will feel all weak and spongy again and am knocked back to square one. I just need something to take the edge off these awful feelings. Appreciate any I input. Thanks

Hi NoraB. I'm assuming (like me) your epileptic. Because my E is unstable I can go through a ton of different meds in an attempt to get a handle on my condition. There are times when my consultant looks upon me as a "Guinea Pig) but I don't mind that. However you should certainly have a chat with your Neurologist; if you haven't already done so. But one med you can't muck about with is your rescue one.

Hello Finglas-Boy...I have not been diagnosed as epileptic and to be honest, I have no idea what is wrong with me. I have made a few educated (and uneducated + Google assisted) guesses such as MS etc..etc..and this is what is freaking me out. Doctor not sure but suggested could be to do with statins that I had been taking for some years and had maybe caused peripheral neoropathy. Now off statins so don't know what my cholesterol is up to. Have been on Atenolol for some time too, so long I have almost forgotten why..lol. Originally to soothe anxiety plus bring down blood pressure, Certainly does not deal with my anxiety and not too sure about blood pressure. I absolutely hate taking medication after having a few unpleasant side effects and now seem to be sensitive to anything and everything. This is why I wanted to try the Bachs Rescue Remedy. I did not include the Bachs bit in my post. Sorry.

My doctor has offered me Diazepam to take if things get a bit difficult whilst I wait for my neuro appointment but told me I should only take them occasionally. I shall certainly be making notes to take with me when I get to see the neurologist

I don't know how you cope with all you have to go through. Let's hope they can soon help you to 'get a handle' on things.

Thank you for taking the time to reply to my post

Hi again, Nora-B, Don't know if you've had a neuro CT yet Either insist on one Or request another. There is a plethora of symptoms ranging from a simple absence to a full blown "all singing, all dancing, bells & whistles Sz. What you describe is almost of my aura which I get immediately before a Sz. This might be the build up to something more significant so please get to Dr's. Taking notes is a great tactic. I do this coz I've now got no short term memory & I often forget things I need to discuss with my Dr's.

I'm stuck with my condition for life I'm afraid but I refuse to let it beat me. I can have surgery but "Trapdoor" surgery in my case is not without serious risks. I've a great Consultant & Dr's & they recommend control via meds rather that the alternative.

Don't know where you live but if your in UK insist on a referral for a scan. I have monthly reviews including a scan & as my Dr says; "Colin, I'd rather you come in & wet my time than suffer the alternative. So I'm stuck with the bleed .

Hi Finglas-boy. Don't know what is wrong with my laptop..maybe it's the search engine, but I have typed two replies to you and one just disappeared and the other became covered in adverts or some such. Anyway. no, I have not yet seen the neurologist. My appointment is at the beginning of January. My doctor referred me a couple of months ago. A scan may be reassuring or at least give me some real idea what is wrong with me, but I have to say it is not something I relish having done. I live in the UK and my current doctor has said to me exactly what yours said, except he added "If people don't come to see me I haven' got a job" Lol. I am so sorry that you are having to endure so much suffering and disruption of your life but I must say I admire your upbeat attitude. I guess it is necessary. I wish you well..
