Propranolol for anxiety
Lonelyheart, Always keep an open mind when starting new medications by not comparing yourself to others good or bad experiences. Since Propranolol works differently than the SSRI or benzo medication, it is best to check in with your doctor and not wait it out. Propranolol properties work by lowering your pressure and slowing your heart rate. Dosage adjustment may be necessary but only done by your doctor. Wishing you well. x
Yes I’m waiting on my doctor to get back to me so I will know what to do next. I think I said that in my posts. And I do know better to go off my own body responses. I just wanted to know what others think of the medication thank you for your info.
I guess I didn't help much Lonelyheart. I always try to steer away from any negative comments so as not to influence others. But I did not like Propanolol for myself, it brought my blood pressure too low that I couldn't function. I hope your doctor calls soon and will answer your concerns. My best. x
I started 80mg once a day two weeks ago and so far no side effects really other then feeling blah at certain points of the day. feel better soon.
I tried this for 2 months and although I didn't have panic attacks I found it did nothing for how I felt overall. I'm now on mirtazapine and find it much better for my overall mood
Well sad to say my doctor never called back. I called my insurance nurse line and they recommended I go to the hospital.. Then that turned into an overnight stay. I was have a reaction to the meds now on Zoloft for my anxiety. So far no side effects yet.. goodness I’m not too happy with my pcp, and how well they communicate back for emergencies.
Lonelyheart, I'm glad you followed through with the nurse line and got the help you needed. Good Luck with Zoloft. I had a pcp at one time who didn't have an answering service but an answering machine. After a couple times of hearing that his machine was full and not taking new messages, he was gone.
