I have a theory

What if the music we are listening to is the cause of some of our anxious thoughts and feelings? Or what if its making us feel depressed or every negative feeling you may experience on daily or monthly basis...

I came up with this theory while working and listening to heavy metal as I was pissed at the fact I have a lazy co worker that deives around all damn day any who I was listening to heavy metal and was getting more pissed as the lyrics were getting heavier

Another example is

I fear death because of the unknown of what happens after we leave this world idk the song name but the lyrics are "all my friends are dead"

They say music touches the heart and soul so maybe we listen to triggering songs during our days so what if we changed our songs for a week as well as our energy to positive for one week

This is very hard because we can get disgruntled very easily especially with our unsteady emotions or life events

But lets try it even if it can only be for a day..

I truly think music has the chance yo change how we feel or think and if we listen to positive songs and create positive thoughts our days will be beyond better

Positive energy creates a positive atmosphere a negative atmosphere creates negative reactions

I have a friend that always thinks negative and bad things keep happening.. she lost her son at 35 and then she lost her mother a few months after and now her father is slowly going.. now a ton of you will think oh well if its your time its your time and it has nothing to do with how she thinks or the negative energy she is putting out..

I will ask you to evaluate your life and ask yourself are you putting negative energy or positive energy into this world.. take one day or night to just THINK what are we doing that could be affecting our daily lives or the lives around us..

the movie "pay it forward" has a very good life lesson in it throughout the entire film if we help one person that one person could pay it forward and help another which creates a chain reaction of positivity

The ending made me cry. Not gonna lie

Any way getting back on track try it out folks listen to different music or see what your listening to and how you feel i know when im sad i go right to sad music haha and when im happy i try to find uplifting beats

What do you listen to? Tell me in the comment section

Hi kevoreally....I know it is more than a theory that music can affect the way we think and feel. It has been proven, just ask any mom or dad who has yelled to their son "turn down that music" :)

What you say kev is true, we can become what we listen to both negatively or positively. It is our choice. I prefer the songs that move me in a positive direction. I can go from down to "I can do this" in a moments notice according to what I am hearing in a song.

My favorite motivational song is "The Fight Song" by Rachel Platton (of course there are others) but each and every time I hear this song, I am ready to turn the world upside down and pull out the inner strength in myself that I know I have.

As for "paying it forward" I try everyday to use the blessing I received in getting well again against anxiety by paying it forward. I always hope that I can make a difference in someone else's life no matter how small.

Thanks kev, as always a thought provoking post. Make it a great day! :)

Being serious though, i've noticed during this spell of anxiety i've hardly listened to any music. Before, it was a big part of my life and i always had music on around the flat. I guess i will get back into listening to it again once i get through this bad spell.

Does the music trigger you? What makes you not want to listen to music?

I guess i'm just not in the right frame of mind to enjoy it at the moment. Before this started i would dance around the flat to it. Now i dont even have any music on.

funny thing is after my last post i switched on my player clicked on shuffle and the first song that came out was Stay by Rihanna. i could not have chosen a sadder song if I had tried lol Actually made me smile at the irony of the choice.
