I just a need a hug. :(

Hi, everyone. How are you?

Today wasn't a good day for me. I have been up all night and slept all day due to my thinking. I haven't got any sleep cause I was afraid that if I went to sleep I might die or have a seizure (a biggest fear of mine)

It's been on my mind ever since I had watch that video of a lady having one a while back and now, I can't seem to overcome the fear of developing seizures/epilepsy.

I want to cry so bad, it's about to drive me up the wall. But I do have a question..as a baby I was pushed down the stairs by our family dog and I was taken to the hospital afterwards but didn't have no injures. Then I slipped on something wet back in 2013 and slightly bump my head against the floor, nothing bad happen after that. But can those two bring on a seizure? Am I at risk for having one?

I heard that it can trigger one to people who stay up. But I never experienced one in my life, not even as a kid. Still, I am going to need a hug. I hate having to go through this. πŸ˜”

Deanna.

Not a doctor so I couldn't tell you but I too have bumped my head numerous amounts of times as a child as well as when I was born πŸ˜‚ and i too believe that, that would happen to me. I'm still here so don't worry about it do you work? If not find something's to do throughout the day and some of the night like cleaning around the house, etc. Stop at 8:00 by 11:00 pm I promise you you'll be ready to fall out and go to sleep. You may want to keep your self preoccupied though that's how I hope with my anxiety on a daily I work in a very fast paced hard working environment that has me ready to fall out by 11:00. Even if you don't want to do that read a book or watch a soothing YouTube video something comical or even anxiety related to help you better understand your symptoms that always helps me. Hope you feel/get better.

Lol, exactly, it was just a small bump. I swear I be taking things to the extremeπŸ™„ but I wish I didn't worry excessively about it. I do have reasons why I am staying up and I heard it was normal for teenagers like myself. But I notice after staying up for three months, actually, I have been getting rest. There were days I have stay up til five and just stare at the wall, thinking. Anyways, what I was saying, after staying up I notice my anxiety worsens to where I have the urge to go crazy.

I suffer a full blown panic attack in July for no reason and three in August or last month. I don't know what to do, I'm just afraid that me staying up will cause health issues that I don't want to have.

But I should try something like that, I do be going on YouTube to watch tutorials, cats doing stupid things, or listening to music. I read too and that makes me fall asleep quicker.

I hope that will work and get my mind off things. Appreciate you replying back, thank you and have a good one! :)

Yeah i get that too mines start when I stay up past three, I feel like I'm on the verge of collapsing, thanks to my job tho I have been able to get enough sleep as well as wake up earlier in the morning. But keep up the reading etc. Once again hope you do feel better

Hi deesmilesx3, None of the things you mentioned would cause a seizure. I believe it was a seed planted in your subconscious a while back when you watched that video. I will take a look on how you can rid yourself of the thought that keeps ruminating in your mind and get back to you

Meanwhile, know that you are not going through this alone. The forum will help support you and understands your fears. As for myself dee, I'm sending you a "virtual hug" coming straight from the Windy City Chicago :) Hugs xxx Agora1

Hey agora I was wondering if a constant tight jaw is brought on by anxiety or something worse

Agora1 profile image
Agora1β€’ in reply to

Hi Keejay, A tight jaw is most likely coming from the clenching you are doing. It can become a dental issue where sleeping with a mouth guard might help relieve the tightness of your jaw. If this is something chronic that has been going on, I would put that thought of "something worse" out of your mind.

Have you dentist take a look and see if your bite may be off causing extra pressure on the joint. Hope you get some relief soon.

β€’ in reply toAgora1

If it's caused by clenching I wouldn'tve noticed plus I'm also having the chest tightness, a little cold sweat and difficulty breathing. I'm probably just worrying too much

Keejay, checking in to see how you are doing today. I just noticed your response this morning regarding the tight jaw. I didn't know when I responded to your post that you were also have chest tightness, little cold sweat and difficulty breathing. That would have made a difference in my response. This is why it's important for a doctor to be involved who knows your health history and any new symptoms you may be experiencing.

I hope you are okay today. Let us know please how you are doing. x

β€’ in reply toAgora1

I'm fine I actually went to the hospital and had my vitals checked and an EKG done and everything went well I guess the tight jaw was caused by me chewing too hard and the anxiety following due to that. I'm gonna try going back to therapy, once I get this new position at work allowing me more days off. Overall I'm much better Thanks for checking up on me.

Keejay, I'm glad you are okay and went and had it checked out. I take what I write very seriously and feel bad that I didn't know other symptoms were going on at the same time. I'm glad you don't rely on the forum but on the good doctors who know your health history.

Going back to therapy sounds like a good idea. Take care of yourself and enjoy the evening. :)

I be having the tight jaw feeling whenever I eat something like I would take a hard bite and can feel the side of my face tightening. It happen a few times but got better since I haven't been doing that lol. But you should get it checked out :)

Whew, thank you, I thought it would but like I said. I take things like this to the extreme lol. But I regret watching that video, I felt sorry for the woman who suffered it. πŸ˜”

I can find ways to get my mind off of it if I tell myself to not think about it or think something positive. Still, I'm afraid that it might come back.

And aww, hugs! I need itttt! Lol. Thank you agora1 πŸ’œ

Nothing wrong with kindness but give some to you too.

I know the fear of going to sleep, I’m actually scared to go to sleep now because I’m scared to have another vertigo episode.

deesmilesx3 profile image
deesmilesx3β€’ in reply to

I have the feeling of my body moving or things around me were moving. Never faint but felt like it, it was just an symptom from anxiety that I mistake for vertigo. But try not to think about it too much and tell yourself that you are about to have another episode or do something that would put you in a positive zone. I promise you will be alright! Much love and light to you my friendπŸ’œπŸ˜Š

β€’ in reply todeesmilesx3

Mine are full blown vertigo episodes. If I tilt my head to the right I spin, when I lay down they are worse in the morning is hard to get up because the right side feels weird. Right now I’m having a hard time balancing, I feel like being pulled to the right and I feel dizzy, anxiety is gonna kick in today really bad.

Hey, I have the same problem like you ! I overthink everything !! It drives me crazy , I take everything hard and overthink it . I think everything is a bad sign when I have a scary thought in my head , I think just like you , I'm so happy I found this site though because I don't feel so alone when I think like this , everyone around me always thinks I'm crazy or think it's easily so over come this but it is scary the fact we keep feeding our minds this scary thought , like when I get a cut or something I always make sure it's doesn't get infected or else it turn into a bad infection that I wouldn't know of , or even something similar like what you think , dying in your sleep ' I always get scared of that too ' I always stay up till 5am :( it sucks! , I hate overthinking everything , how old are you btw? . I hate that we're so young and worried about everything

deesmilesx3β€’ in reply toBriannafaye1

I'm sorry that you are going through the same thing like me. But we got each other and about to fight this. πŸ’œ Together! :)

I use to think a headache would lead to brain tumor, difficulty breathing to heart attack, small cuts to a infection. Yes, my love, I took things like this to the extreme. I'm a hypochondriac btw. And I guess that's a part of why we are teens, in life, we get older and now start worrying things like adults.

But I'm eighteen years old.

Briannafaye1 profile image
Briannafaye1β€’ in reply todeesmilesx3

Right I've been like this since I was 13 years old I'm now 21 and still dealing with the thoughts , I hate that I can't enjoy my life like any others in heir 20s without fear coming into my head , anything small triggers it :/

If you've never had a seizure, like me, then why are you worried about having one? I've had years of head bangs and even electrocutions when I was younger and I don't have seizures. That's more of a hard-wired thing in your head or if you have a super high fever.

deesmilesx3 profile image
deesmilesx3β€’ in reply to

Let's just say that I watch a video of a woman having seizures that went viral on the net in 2015 or thirteen, couldn't remember well. But I regret watching it cause I knew deep down it could bring some fear, still, I felt terribly bad for the woman and the people that have seizures/epilepsy. But you're right, after all those years of bumping my head against the wall, door, and car roofs plus falling down the stairs as a kid.

I never experienced a seizure. Oh wowsers. 😱 Have to blame my visits to Dr. Google and anxiety for this. How stupid I made myself look thinking that I was about to have seizures from the bump or staying up every night. I'm sorry. Thank you for responding, Dave! You are amazing.

Deesmilesx3, forgive me if I laugh at your honesty and ability to put into words what was always an undercurrent thought I used to have. YEARS ago I READ, just read, about some kids in Japan who had seziures (for reasons I will not write down, becauae alot of us are sensitive to suggestions) and for the next 20 years I was afraid of the same thing. Had special sunglasses made, etc....one day I got the courage to tell my doctor about it. He educated me to what seziure activity was and why some brains have it.

AYFKM? All those years i was afraid it would happen to me? Never gonna happen if u r not wired for it.

deesmilesx3β€’ in reply toIndigojoe

Indigo, I had to forgive myself for laughing at the post I wrote so it's ok lol. Glad to see someone was going through the same thing. But like I said before, sorry if I had to say it again because it's true. I take myself to the extreme with this and think they it would suffer me a seizure after those years of falling and bumping my head against the wall or having headaches.

Just have to clearly understand that this is anxiety and I have to accept it. Thank you for responding! πŸ’œ

Sorry to hear your not doing so good with this but remember your not alone many people have similar if not the same exact problem. A huge part of anxiety is your brain just playing tricks on you i know people who dont have this problem think that its just so easy to calm yourself down and stop bugging out but we know its not that easy but it can be sometimes. When i would go to sleep I was constantly afraid that i wasnt breathing right or i was having heart issues or some other life threatening problem but all my drs and tests said that i was fine but i still felt like something wasnt right that they had to of overlooked something and when i tried going to sleep i couldnt stop thinking that i would be dead before i woke up i didnt even want to go to sleep anymore so my dr precribed me xanax. Now xanax helped me 100% it truly did i fell right asleep and it cured my anxiety issue as well. That is up until i was fully addicted to them from taking them everyday and i ran out and then i found out that if i didnt have them WOW i was in trouble. You dont ever want to take them long term or enough to build a dependency for them because the side affects are HORRIBLE and could even result in death i was actually told only alchohol and benzos.(xanax) can kill you from withdrawal if your extremely addicted and just stop cold turkey. Anyways so when i ran out my anxiety was worse than i ever experienced i also had hallucinations along with extreme light sensitivity but my gf on the other hand well she would have bad seziures from xanax withdrawl just after one day with out them n she would get seziures along with all the same side affects i would have and it was absolutely terrifying. Drs would just give us more xanax and say dont stop cold turkey because with xanax (benzos) seziures i guess are quite common when your dependent on them and then just stop taking them my gf never even had a seziure a day in her life before becoming dependent on xanax. So benzos can be great and they are for some people but just be very carefull and NEVER take them long enough to become dependant on them and also im not a dr by any means but i do suggest to never take them longer than four days in a row. My RX said take everyday as needed and it should of said dont ever take longer than 3-4days in a row with out taking a few days off in between. Ok sorry just wanted to give that warning because of how horrible it was for me to get off them. I personally cant take them anymore after what we went through to get off them although it truly is the only RX that worked for my sleeping issue and my anxiety. So now we go almost med free absolutely no RXs for me anymore (no insurance) so i take about 50mgs of benadryl a night about 75-100mg if its the 2nd or 3rd day in a row(after 3 days in a row they dont seem to affect me) just to make me a lil drowsy before bed it just helps me fall asleep. Now my gf takes melatonin for sleep it doesnt work for me personally but she swears by it for sleeping. So now when my heart starts feeling like im having a heart attack or my breathing starts feeling weird like im not getting enough air benadryl or melatonin doesnt help that at all nothing really does really unless i can completely get myself to forget about it completely wich is REALLY REALLY hard to do especially when thats all you can think about. First what ill try doing is to talk to someone and talk about anything but your fears bcuz that might not make it any better you might focus back on your fears again. If no ones around try to call someone or go online to chat find someone or something really anything to occupy your time just to try n forget about everythingl so your brains not racing thinking about your fears and you end up focusing all your thoughts and energy on it n it makes it worse and i always tell myself over n over this has happened so many times and nothing bad has ever happened and it wont now im fine and most of the time these days my attacks arent as bad as long as i lose myself into something i tend to forget that i was even having a fake heart attack(panic attack)there are many people out there and alot of people right here with the same type of issue and many people will help you your not alone hope it helps a little and also XOXOXO hugs n kisses 4ya....sorry apologies for the bad grammer
