Recently I started taking prescribed medication and my heart was slowly stopping. I started on a Friday and by Sunday I realized something was wrong and if it wasn't for my anxiety I would of fell asleep and my heart rate would of dropped more. The ER doctor told me it was the medicine I take for migraines a beta blocker that caused it. My heart rate was below 45 and they had to give me medicine to counter act the other medicine. It's been. 3 weeks and I can't sleep cause I'm scared to dye I'm my sleep my anxiety is worse even tho I'm taking medicine. I've started seeing a therapist to help with trauma and ptsd! Yes they told me my anxiety is caused from trauma and I've developed ptsd! I would never wish anxiety on anybody! I take Zoloft which helps but only a little. I read about anxiety and knowing what's going on makes me feel safer and reading bored bores me to sleep. I hope everyone who suffers finds strength to overcome our over active brains!

Have you tried drinking 2L of water daily to counteract your migraines naturally? Most headaches are caused by severe dehydration

Yes I also drink lots more water. Iv e stopped taking medicine for my migraines do to bad reactions to most everyone I've tried. If you know any more natural ways to cure a migraine I'm all ears but I swear I've tried everything.

Ok that's good, do you drink enough water though? That can really help.

Do you drink caffeine too? I would recommend massively reducing this or cutting it out if possible. Also if you have central heating keep a window open :-)

I had to stop drinking caffeine after I went to the ER which I have noticed a really good improvement but still anxiety and migraines together are a hard battle to win. Thank you for your advise❤

Hi Nisha93,

We sure have to be careful in monitoring what medications we take and their potential nasty side effects. As every body reacts differently to the same meds it can be a minefield!

I am not sure how long you have been taking the Zoloft for. It usually takes 4-8 weeks to kick in and make a difference. You may have to increase the dose or switch to something else if it doesn't work for you.

It's great that you have read up about your anxiety. Being informed helps reduce worry about the signs and symptoms and you concentrate on recovery.

Have a discussion about your sleep fear with your therapist who might be able to provide some ideas about how to get quality sleep which is important as your brain repairs and prepares for the new day.

There are a few different over the counter natural sleep aids which you might like to try. Have a discussion with your pharmacist to make sure they won't interfere with your medication.

If nothing else works, go for the prescription knock out drugs.

Thank you for your line ... I hope everyone who suffers finds strength to overcome our over active brains!

I take fever few (an herb) daily and it has helped me greatly with headaches. You can buy it online or at a vitamin shop. It was actually recommended by my PCP. Had no side effects from it.
