Alpha wave electrotherapy?

So my therapist suggested this device that you clip to your ears and it somehow changes the alpha waves in your brain to treat pain, mental illness, insomnia etc. I cant find much info about it online but it does sound promising! Has anyone had any experience with it?

Hi LowkeyLoki, Transdermal Electrical Neurostimulation Therapy. It's used for Anxiety, Insomnia and Depression. It works in enhancing medication or for patients afraid to take meds. It is done in the doctor's office for 15-20 minutes while you are relaxing. No pain involved. For some there is immediate relief and others may take several appointments.

You can buy the Alpha-Stim Aid (costly) and do this at home under guidance of psychiatrist.

I have not needed to use it but had met 2 patients who have and the results was amazing for both. I wish you well in your decision whether to give it a try. Good Luck x
