Stress: anxiety
Yes it can be related. Stress does horrible things to your body. Thats why it is always best to try and mitigate your stress levels. Whenever I have increased stress levels I tend to eat less and stomach is always churning and on edge.
Hi, I get migraines when I am feeling over stressed. I suffered for years with mysterious stomach complaints and it was only after I got diagnosed with my anxiety and depression that these mysterious stomach attacks started to get less.
So they could be related. You may wish to speak to your GP about it though. I have been on medication which made me feel sick and had to get it changed.
So I guess it all depends on your personal circumstances. If you are worried talk to your GP.
Take care.
Could of developed a food intolerance, that's what caused all my anxiety/stress symptoms.
Keep a food diary for a while and try and find a pattern to when your stomach goes crazy.
Mine was corn/maize (in almost everything) but I still might be intolerant to some other foods as well as still get some symptoms now and then.
It's also mainly the extra stomach acid that's produced to try and digest the food you're intolerant to (if it is an intolerance problem) that causes the nausea and stress/anxiety symptoms.
Could see a doctor and maybe get a ppi med like Lansoprazole to suppress the acid which does help (but didn't fix me as the ppi med contained maize) I'm not taking anything at the moment.
Hi yes stress and anxiety affects your digestive system. I developed IBS after long term stress and anxiety so if it continues pop to your docs for some tests x
I get horrendous reflux! I don't know if it's down to anxiety but it's a huge part of it. My centre back alswywd feels sore with reflux. & my chest. I get shivers & cold. I get breathless with reflux sometimes it's that's bad. Stress is a huge part of it. I hope you managed to find a cure for it, notice what kicks off your anxiety m, & destroy it
Yep I got all that too, it's been unbearable at times. I've woke with food poisoning feeling every single day for a year and a half. I'd get flu symptoms which would mysteriously disappear the next day. I found out it was corn maize causing it a couple of weeks ago after eating 2 meals with cornflour in which totally destroyed me and gave me flu for 2 weeks.
It affects my nervous system as well giving me twitches and causing my face to go red hot and tense as well as my shoulders.
Magnesium Glycinate supplements has really helped the shivers and tense muscles I used to get.
My stomach is still messed up though as it's got so used to producing a load of acid to digest it as I was eating gluten free cornflakes for ages.
Strange thing is I've never had the burning in chest/throat, I just get the burning stomach which started at the bottom a year and a half ago then it gradually moved to the top which then caused the burping, and sick feeling with red hot face every day. One thing I've always had from the start though is the horrible sour taste in my mouth every morning which has also caused my mouth to bleed.
Hi! I was having those same problems and I went to see a doctor. I have IBS (Irritable bowel syndrome) which can also trigger your anxiety problems. I’ve been keeping a good diary to know what I can and cannot eat. I’m also not allowed to have meat anymore so I keep a strictly plant based diet. (You obviously don’t need to do that it’s just what my doctor told me to do) try changing your diet a bit. Eat more brown rice and greens that are good for your stomach. Salmon and chicken are also excellent for your digestive system.
