Hi all.
Sorry got another question I generally get around 4-5 stress headaches a week usually behind my eyes or at the back of my head. Is this usual when you suffer from anxiety and any advice what to take or how to deal with it would be fantastic.

I almost constantly have awful headaches in my temples and behind my eyes caused by anxiety (im pretty sure!) and codeine based tablets do work but they give me a worse headache when i stop taking them, more like the dehydration hangover headache really. I use peppermint oil or teatree oil and rub it on my temples and the back of my neck and the tingly sensation seems to relax the muscles im obviously tensing to give me headaches. I dont know if you feel like that would make a difference, but if you can afford it its maybe worth a try...i got my oils from wilkos for about £1 each. Take care, i hope you get some decent rest xx
I do hope something works for you, im still trying everything possible for now so ill keep you updated of anything that has a bit more long-term effect if i find it! xx
Hi miami, sorry for not replying sooner I had a few rough days but am feeling a bit better today so wanted to reply to you! Ive never asked for a scan, do you mean MRI? I have an odd relationship with health professionals, as I tend to decide beforehand what i think they can do and then only ask for that lol but have you asked for specific blood tests? If nothing else at least get them to check your cortisol levels and thyroid function(if you havent already!) and if you do have very high cortisol(stress hormone) that will be playing havoc with your general functioning. Have they done neurological functioning tests? They are just behavioural things like checking your motor skills etc. Are you seeing a counsellor at all? If you are maybe they could help you discuss your health worries? From my experience, and as far as I can tell from other peoples posts, anxiety can make you feel much more ill than you ever expect and although its horrible at least there will be some relief of symptoms once the anxiety eases. I hope you are ok, and I will always try to answer any questions you have (even if it may take a couple of days, my apologies in advance!). Take care xx
Hi Bananabread. I have had full blood count if that's what you mean? and yes they did the usual neurological test making you touch you nose with your finger etc. I did see a counsellor but all they did is sit there and listen to me and didn't really offer any help, The only time I heard her speak was when she asked for the £35 lol. For me the constant headache and being lightheaded all the time is what makes me feel so awful. When you read about all this it says cut out your stress which I don't have and carry on as normal and don't take any notice of your symptoms when I feel like I do there is no way I can carry on I feel to ill x
