Question 🤔

I read that taking certain supplements can help with anxiety/ depression. One that I read about is 5HTP, this is suppose to create the ability for your brain to make more serotonin. And is it safe to take along with antidepressants?

Has anyone tried this with some success?!

Thank you!

I have read the same and some success stories too. I have also read that 5htp is one of the supplements that can help with depersonalization/derealization recovery. I am going to see a holistic doctor this month and going to ask. I'll let you know

Are you struggling with depression or my hell? My hell is depersonalization/ depersonalization?

I mainly struggle from anxiety, but more recently I have been also with depersonalization; I actually have to thank you cause I had no idea what I was going through until I saw your post about it, and I was like ohh that's me. I thought I was literally going crazy.

It sure will have you thinking like you are going bat shit crazy. When It first started I was a mess. I couldn't get out of bed for 2 weeks and I even told my husband I needed to be in a mental hospital until I got better. Thank God he didn't listen. I'm still a mess but I have been able to function like a zombie. Start drinking some supplements. I feel like magnesium has helped me a bit. And omega cod liver oil, a good multi vitamin and there's more but I'm just going to wait until I see the holistic doctor.

I've been wanting to see a holistic dr. For a while now, let me know how it goes and if you'd recommend it. :)

For sure. I wouldn't wish this hell on anyone and will share whatever they tell me. I'm going to one that deals with neurotransmitter and rebalancing and I'm hoping she can fixed whatever imbalance is in this brain.

Keep your head up, and try to get some sleep even though it's difficult.

I am taking 200 mg.a day of Sertraline.(Zoloft).I am trying natural additions.I hope to soon try 5htp.

Multivitamin,multi mineral?nothing.

vitamin d3?nothing.

Omega 3? Works.

I hope to try 5htp.I always check with my doctor or pharmacist first but omega 3(high epa)I am amazed that it helps greatly.

So I am quite excited about the half a dozen supplements that have some evidence of increasing serotonin like 5htp.

Check its o.k.with an expert and enjoy.

be careful about taking 5htp with sertraline, you can cause serotonin syndrome which is not good. Check with your doctor before you do that. Good luck.
