How to get off klonopin
Klonopin is a Benzodiazipine medication which needs to be tapered off slowly. Your doctor should be able to tell you how to wean off the medication according to how long you have been on it. Since you still have anxiety and are crying all the time, it might mean the drug is no longer working for you and instead of raising the dose, your doctors want you off it.
That happened to me as well. I came off Ativan with my psychiatrist monitoring me. I used the Dr. Heather Ashton Method of weaning off all benzos. She was a pioneer who helped many patients get off their meds safety and productively. (Always under the guidance of a physician)
If you type in her name you will be able to see a module of the schedule she uses for the different meds. You can show your doctor and see if he agrees with her findings. I have been off benzos for over 2 years now and the results were astounding. Clear headed, back in control, tiredness gone as well as the crying jags of fear. Wish you well...x
I have crying jags of fear also which make me more scared. I'm afraid of the anxiety
I cried and shook all the time from the fear of anxiety and what it might to do me. It wasn't until I got off the medication as well as started reading Dr. Claire Weekes book over and over on "Hope & Help for our Nerves", did I start knowing that I did have control over me fears. When you have fear over anxiety, it tends to build and get more frightening. The adrenaline then releases giving you more fear leading to symptom after symptom. Somewhere along the way, we need to accept that this fear is not real. It will not harm us. Accepting that, really accepting it will put your mind at ease and reduce the cycle.
I really suggest reading Dr. Weekes book, you will be surprised at all the things you can relate to in how you feel and what to do step by step.
