Feel really poorly. I went out with friends tonight drinking and I feel so ill now. This is really getting me down now. My side of head feels numb but don't know if it's thru anxiety as I have just had panic attacks not so long ago or should I go to hospital? It's scary :-(

Are you in the UK or US? Are you on any meds?

If not, sounds like the revenge of drinking too much. If you have a doctor who is prescribing any meds, call him or his answering service for advice. Is there anyone there with you? Someone who can take you to the hospital if you decide to do that? If not call Uber, a taxi or a friend to drive you. The 911 call for the paramedics can cost you a fortune and I don't know if you have the insurance or funds to pay that bill.

But really sounds like the payment for drinking, particularly if you have anxiety problems. Are any f they friends you were drinking with still nearby so they can be called to stay with you until you make a decision of

what you'll do? Try to call them. We'll be here if you need to write again.

I'm in the uk. I'm not on any meds but I got prescribed them bout 6 month ago but haven't took them as I'm frightened to take them. My panic attacks started a few hours ago when I got home cos I didn't like the drunk feeling so don't know if that's making me panic and feel like this. Do I need an ambulance or will I be okay? I've got my family in house with me and my partner sat up with me for 4 hours but he's fell asleep now.

Lyns1411, PTSDforyears is a very wise and competent person on the forum. I agree with the fact that drinking causes you to feel so bad. I noticed in your earlier posts that this happened 3 months ago as well. My concern is that you were on Propanolol or another med which would be even worse.

I'm glad you are not alone. I don't know how much the ER can do for you if it's a matter of drinking too much. One thing I do know is that when drinking our bodies tend to dehydrate drastically. So pumping water will flush out your system making the liquor pass a little quicker as well as make you feel a little better. Probably sleeping it off as well may be your solution at this point. Let us know what you decide. I wish you well. Feel better..

I'm sober now but my brain feels all fuzzy. It's awful. I can't focus on anything at all. I was on propranolol a while bk but only took one tablet cos it made me feel so poorly so doctor advised me to stop taking them

I couldn't handle Propranolol either....I would think the best thing besides drinking water is to try to sleep if you can. I think your brain feeling fuzzy is the effects of a hangover.

Whatever you do, do not call an ambulance or get to A&E by any other means for an alcohol-related incident. The call out charge for the ambulance costs around £350 disregarding the pay of the paramedics and the nurses and doctors once there. If you are having panic attacks solely as a result of drinking then you ought to go and see your GP who will be able to assist you. When you see your GP then please be honest with she/he when you are questioned about your alcohol intake and your fear of taking prescribed medications. It may be that you will be referred to your local mental health team who will deal with your panic attacks and anxiety and depression and whatever else may be affecting your mental health at the moment. These people are paid to do that. The NHS is as fragile as you are at the moment and should those with impediments concerning alcohol and related matters continue to overwhelm the NHS then in the very near future it will simply vanish and all medical problems, either physical or mental, will be in the domain of private medical insurance companies. Apologies for any inferred anger in these words, it is something I feel strongly about because I wish the NHS to continue to do what it was set up to do.
