Dizziness & head pain

I'm at work right now and I've started getting very dizzy and my head feels really tight and heavy.

This has been happening to me for months, apparently it's tension headaches but it does not feel like a headache and I don't know why I constantly feel like I'm going to pass out.

Does anyone know what it could be possibly from I know anxiety, but I'm starting to think it's something else and is freaking me out again.

Is so hard to concentrate, I just want to go home.

I know this feeling... do you have allergies or anything like sensitive sinuses. I'm not saying this is your problem but I have these symptoms from time to time.. even right now my head feels heavy but I can feel a burning sensation in my sinus.

I'm thinking it might be from my sinuses maybe because I have been stuffed up for a few months... which isn't good I know. But this feeling is also a lot worse when I'm at work, most of the time at home I'm fine I'll just feel really anxious.

Is there anything you've done to make it go away?

The only thing that really works for me is a damp cool cloth.. I put it over my eyes, sinus area and prop my head up a little. It also helps relax and it gives some relief.

I had this problem recently, a couple of days ago, I practiced tummy breathing and it turned out I wasn't breathing correctly the whole time. That's what yours sounds like. If you have fears of anything though, go see your doctor to rule out other conditions.

The following medical issues can cause your symptoms

1. Anxiety

2. Inner ear issue like otitis media or sinus issues

3. BPPV or drop in blood pressure

4. Tension / vestibular migraines

Try nasocort or nasal steroid for ear sinus issues and avoid allergens ... for migraines can try ibuprofen for attack or imitrex and consider starting maintenance meds like Effexor or propranolol.

5. Cardiac arrhythmias

6. Anemia or other metabolic issue like thyroid ( need blood work )

7. Brain issue like MS or tumor ( very very unlikely )

Hope you feel better soon

Thank you for your reply, I'm going back to the doctor today! Will hopefully get some answers

I get dizzy from anxiety. Like constantly swaying inside. The longest bout went for just over a month. Then I got a myriad of other symptoms. Ten years later here I am dizzy again. Three weeks and counting. Each time doctors (GP and hospital doctors) ran lots of tests to count out nasty things. Have you had a CT scan? And seen specialists? It's always good when you can tick off the nasty things. This time round I know it's just a waiting game. I can't control how long it lasts. I know mine is anxiety so that helps me not reach to panic attack stage. Valium helps, but I use it only when I absolutely can't stand the feeling or when I need a break from the swaying (it gets me down some days). Hopefully doctors/specialists have run some tests for you to help ease your worrying. The first time it happened to me my GP way away so I was seeing random doctors. I was told it was vertigo at one stage, then that it was a virus, then something in my ear. All different opinions and no tests. I went to the hospital after a month where a lovely doctor ran CT scans and other tests then talked to me about anxiety and panic attacks. I was like 😳. Anxiety?! Not me. This is me normally. I'm not anxious. Lol. The dizziness went away three days later, but other symptoms came in its place. My GP came back from holidays and came to same conclusion as hospital doctor (still ran tests though). I also had sinus problems which I'd never had before. Worked out that was unrelated and I had treatment accordingly (a dental issue was the cause of my sinus issues). Hope you get some answers. Keep pushing for answers and get second opinions if you're not sure. Anxiety can be confusing. But it's also good not to label everything as anxiety just in case. Even knowing I have anxiety my doctor still runs tests when I see him - I'm lucky he understands anxiety but that he also is thorough and makes sure we check things out. Hope you get some relief soon.
