Finger holds &tapping.

My counsellor has told me to do finger holds and tapping. Has anyone ever did this in counselling and did it work

Hello

Some years ago when this was new and not many had heard of it I went to see someone who had me doing this , well to be honest I wanted to laugh as I had never come across it before and I thought they were just taking the fun out of me asking me to do it !

But some years later this method is very popular and people do believe in it and say it works , I have never tried it again after all these years but may give it a go now you have reminded me , like I think now what have we to loose it could help :-)

Was tapping but he had me singing nursery rhymes as well :-o which I think is what put me of and I never went back !

Hi Rayray27, I do EFT tapping for my anxiety and insomnia, I believe in it..so it works for me(did not learn in counselling, just read about one day).After all anxiety is just bad thoughts...lets replace those with affirmative good thoughts :) take care

How many times do u do this a day. Do u find it works straight away. Xx

usually twice a day..sometimes more,.if I feel I am getting anxious I tap . for my insomnia I try to remember to tap when I am in tub relaxing before bed. for me it worked right away :)

I find the tapping is great if you feel panic. If I feel my heart racing I just start tapping my forehead from one side to the other. When you are doing that for a minute or two you can no longer hear your heart pounding and by the time you stop the pounding your heart has stopped racing. I find it is a great distraction. Do try it.
