Does anyone have a medication they feel like worked/works best for them? I've actually heard Wellbutrin doesn't treat anxiety (it's usually only for depression which I get from being anxious)
Hello all! This is my first post! I'm going to try to shorten this and not make it lengthy. I started having anxiety 2 years ago. Effexor worked best for me then except I gained 25 lbs in 6 months. After 9 'months I felt much better and was weened off. Now my anxiety is back. I tried lexapro, it made me extremely sick. Then they put me on 300mg Wellbutrin XL. The last two weeks have been amazing. I've felt great. Well the past 3 days my anxiety is back full force. I was thinking part is because I'm sick. But now I'm starting to wonder if the Medicine stopped working. Tonight was the absolute worst I don't feel like myself at all. I know he suggested possible cymbalta because it's similar to Effexor.

Hi Fallluna, Medication is a very personal issue between you and your doctor who knows your health history. However, my opinion is once you have been on the Merry-go-round of different meds that don't work, it's time to go into another direction. You will never feel like yourself again until you are off meds, try an alternative to medication and finally accept the anxiety. Once you get past that stumbling block the anxiety will leave or lessen and gone will be your depression as well. You will never feel as clear minded and back in control until that happens. I wish you well. Of course, always make any changes with your doctor's approval only.
Thank you. Honestly no medicine was the step I've wanted to take from day one but it's gotten so bad I have in to try things. I used to be able to brush off the anxiety before I got stuck in an anxious loop of thoughts but now it doesn't seem so easy. I'm not sure what else to try that's natural or an alternative unfortunately.
