How can I prevent my panic attacks and anxiety issues? I don't want to take drugs. Does counseling help?

Hi Gina10, yes counseling would help. It helps to get down to the source of your anxiety as well as teach you ways other than medication in moving forward. It takes work on your part unlike meds where you pop a pill and wait for it to do it's magic. There is so much out there that can help you retrain your thoughts and see the light once more. Wish you my best. x
Hi Gina,
I have anxiety, primarily health anxiety, but I too also refuse to take medication. There are many things that help to control this and one of them is going to see a therapist. They have techniques that will help you cope with what you are feeling. Look into CBT/mindfulness/and EMDR. They have helped me. BUT the number one thing that has helped me is my faith in God and Jesus. Praying. It does not hurt to try. They will listen.
God bless
Honey, that is the million dollar question! But, I myself, try to keep my stress to the absolute minium, if at all possible. Since, I can not live in a bubble and stress is inevitable, I go for leisurely walks, mediate, play with my puppies, watch comedies, talk to the wonderful people here on HealthUnlocked, no longer eat meat or dairy, and pray. Always praying. Peace and Love be with you.
Yes definitely will help I've never found there are any drugs that have helped me just masked my symptoms Please read Beevee's posts he talks so much sense
I'm recovered now and I did it exactly the same as he did and can't recommend his wise words enough
Good luck
