Depression : I need help it sounds stupidbut... - Anxiety Support
Depression
Rik1233, I hope by now you are fast asleep. I've never experienced what you went through. Unless you were still half asleep when your partner came to bed. Hope you feel better in the morning.
I've had experience this before. It feels as an out of body experience. I wld try to stay calm until this passes. Breath through your nose , out your mouth, drink plenty of water, turn soothing music on, close your eyes. Picture yourself anywhere you wld like to be that is relaxing. Then call your doctor. Explain your symtoms. Share with your partner. Partner supposed to be your best friend, your rock, supporter, back you up. Like you wld do for him, or her of tables were switched. Shod never feel the need to keep anything that is good, bad, sad, or just confusing. If he, or she loves you. This person will be supportive 100% ! Amen!
I always feel this way. I would try yoga.. Anxiety does this to me and I can't stand it. I wish it was easier but it's not and you may need some medication to also keep you from feeling this way.... I feel for you and I hope it gets better for you!
You don't sound stupid!!! Anxiety can make a person feel "out of body" or like they are dying. Try closing your eyes and mindfully thinking of your breathe coming in and out of your chest. When you take a breathe in, keep your mind on your chest expanding with air and then falling as you release the breathe. If your mind starts to wander back to your panic, try to bring your thoughts back to the breathing. Have you tried mindful meditation videos? Here are a couple that will help. Good luck my friend!!
The advice to concentrate on things other than your anxiety is good. You must do this and when you do, you will feel much better. Anxiety will decrease as you focus on other things. You can train yourself to focus on things you love to do or to actually do things you love, or get up and do physical things like exercise if it's feasible. Anything that distracts you from your anxiety will help you feel better and help get rid of the strange out-of-body feeling. The more you work at it the better you get at it. Practice, practice and it will become easier and more automatic and life will become better. Also you should speak to your Dr. about adequate medication for your anxiety.
You are not alone. I started feeling like this a few years ago. First it started with me being aware of my hands on the steering wheel of my car, as if I was looking at someone else hand. Then I began to feel that I was invisible, not here. I felt as if my mind would shut down at time. I went o see a Christian therapist because I am a christian. Sometimes I feel like I am losing my mind. I still have those feelings but have learned to ignore them. You are not going crazy and you are not alone. When I am focus on something else, I am not aware of these feelings. Tell yourself that you are not going crazy and you are not dying. Mine is from overthinking/over analyzing what people are thinking, saying, feeling about me. I am getting over that with God's help. Replace negative thoughts with positive ones. Know that we are all imperfect and respond and behavior out of who we are. The more you think about how you are feeling, the worst you might feel. Think about something pleasant or just close your eyes and go to sleep with the anticipation that you will wake up in the morning. If you are doing something you know you shouldn't, stop doing it. If you have friends (who are critical, domineering, etc.) that you need to get rid of, do it. You can not live by everyone's standards. God has given us standards to live by in the bible. Hope you feel better soon.
