Hi apayett,  it doesn't surprise me that your heart rate was so fast.  I know how scared you were.  Your heart beat will come down throughout the day as you relax in the safety of your home.  I'm glad that the doctor is putting you on Prozac because it does sound like severe panic attacks that you are going through.  Ok, she took blood samples and says your heart's okay.  You have done good today by getting out and to the doctor appointment.   Remember, one step at a time, even a small step counts.  xx

Other than relaxation/meditation and deep breathing, there is no quick fix.  Prozac is a good medication but takes several weeks for you to feel any affect.  CBT/therapy will help but again takes time.

Of course not,  I'm sure the doctor just wants to get your emotions under control some so that you can reach out to other modalities that can help you.  I'm no longer on medication, but it took time to get to that point.

Has there been any one who didn't have to use meds to get better I just don't want to be on them

Why don't you put that out there to the forum and see what others may have used in place of medication.  I hear you about not wanting to start meds.  Sometimes we have no choice.  x
