Convinced I have cancer which is going to get misdiagnosed to a stage where it isn't curable.

Hello, I've been experiencing weight loss each day, my stools are looser, I've lost my appetite, have pain under right eye that just happened last night, cough with sore throat and upper abdomen tenderness. I'm a 17 year old male and I'm really scared that I might have cancer! and doctors are not going to detect it for ages until becomes Stage 4! I've had blood tests done twice within 2 months and they have come back fine, I've also had a chest X-Ray and that came back fine too. I went to A&E yesterday because I was worrying as usual and that's where I had my second blood test and chest X Ray. The symptom I am really worrying about is my weight loss because each day I step on the scales it gets lower each time. The stories I've read about these teenagers are really scary seeing as their symptoms get ignored because of age. I really do feel like my life is coming to an end...

The most common cancers for people your age are lymphomas and leukemias which would've showed up in a blood test, especially at stage 4. You're probably losing weight cause you're anxious. I lost like 15 pounds from being anxious it sucks! Try not to worry about cancer, it's very hard for young people to get.

Have you spoken to your doctor about how worried you're feeling rather than simply telling him all the symptoms and getting tested for the symptoms? It sounds as though you've been very thoroughly checked out but I think you need to talk to him/her more about how anxious you've been feeling through all this. I agree with the previous posters - being anxious will often make you lose weight. I lost nearly a stone when I went through a very anxious period 3 years ago, I found I just didn't feel like eating very much and I normally have an excellent appetite.

Hey there I can assure you that you are not alone, I worry myself sick about having something serious. Last week it was a brain Tumor, then it was heart desiese, then it was thyroid cancer. The list is endless. The last blood test I had was about a year ago and that came back normal. My GP has now referred me to something called CBT which is a form of councileling. Have you ever heard of Healty Anxiety? That what the GP has said I have. I'm only 19 and I too worry about being misdiagnosed

I feel exactly the same!!! im scared of cancer and im checking my head for lumps all the time and when i feel a lump i search up a bunch of things which makes me even worse but then i realise the lump is just the shape of my head.

It all started two weeks ago and i just want to be normal again, im getting blood test this week to settle it for once and for all.
