I had bad panic attacks for years. The best thing is finding a coping mechanism. I also really hated when my son saw me like that!

Remember, you are not going to die! You know what the problem is. You HAVE to be positive!

I know how hard it is. You will be ok. Our minds sometimes can be our worst enemy. The Valium should be helping. I take Xanax and that seems to help. ~ Brian

AussieKel, it's horrible when you are the one going through. Do you know what is causing these attacks? When I find myself getting anxious, I close my eyes and tell myself to calm down. I take deep breaths and remind myself that nothing is as bad as it seems especially if you are conjuring up scenarios in your mind. Focus on something else. ...and ask God for help. Seeing a therapists helped me a lot.

Try to remember that you are fine. The chemicals in your brain are causing the Fight or Flight response to over react. That's all it is. Believe me. You are okay. This will stop. There are antidepressants that also work to stop panic attacks. I take Effexor for panic attacks. Please ask your doctor about SNRIs. All the best to you. You can do this!

Thank you everyone. Yesterday afternoon was yucky for me. I'm ok today, however now I'm constantly thinking about when my next panic attack will hit me today. Why the heck to I allow these stupid thoughts and allow them to bring on my anxiety :( my mind always wins!!!! X

Vitamin d defeciency to start, get outside more. Avoid foods that make you feel bad/worse. Avoid news, stories, things which stress you out. Dont get down on yourself for resting when you feel crappy. Your body is trying to repair.

my ultimate suggestion is to not get stuck into thinking about it all the time. Remember what you used to enjoy? Think about those things. Breath deep and relax your body, especially the stomach while thinking about yoir FUTURE activities that you Enjoy.

Vitamin d deficit is bad but it leads to other issues. Get on a serious regimen, some b12, get outside and focus on the fun things not the scary ones.

Could I like your comment anymore haha. You seen very firm & I need someone like that to tell me to pull my head in & snap out of it! I've never heard about Vitamin D deficiency contributing to anxiety ect! THANK YOU for the kick up the ass comment (even tho that may not have how you intended it to come across) it certainly made me smile reading it!

Cheers 🤓

Now that I'm at a computer I forgot one of my favorite ways to get out out of the dumps. Try to find something funny to watch, or a show you really find funny - laughter is a great anti-anxiety medicine and it's got no side effects.

I watch Impractical Jokers here in the states. They're on YouTube and they can really help pull you out of the blues!

Anything that will MAKE YOU LAUGH.

Even if you feel a panic attack - slow your breathing down, breath through your nose and focus on something else. Go about your day. Don't let it win. Even if your heart is racing - so what? Go about your day. Finish your activity. At the store? Keep shopping. Everytime you feel like that combat with a positive experience instead of a negative one by retreating.

Maybe monitor when your heart races the most? Any medicines, caffeine that might be making it worse? I think certain foods, digestion, acid reflux, medicines, caffeine can cause heart palpitations. They'll pass.

Oh, and quite honestly being on forums like this can make you anxious as you read about everyone elses symptoms.. I know it's ridiculous lol.

Good luck and try to find that joy again!

Thanks :) yeah, I find reading other people's symptoms either makes me worse, makes me feel sorry for them or makes me feel at ease knowing I'm not alone.

Today, I'm just in a bad mood...that then make me anxious because I'm not normally a grumpy person. Thing are getting to me that & it's annoying me cause I'm not like that. I think I'm pissed off with myself for taking Valium to calm me down, when I want to beat this on my own but I find it so hard!

I guess if much prefer to be non anxious at the minute until I start my therapy...in just so hard on myself and expect everything i do to be perfect...But know one is perfect I guess!

Have you been an anxiety sufferer in the past? Or still are, but you know how to kick its butt?

I had/have issues with low blood pressure/high pulse rate as well as vitamin-D deficiency along with digestive problems. And by the way - Vitamin-D defeciency affects your mood big time.

As for me - When it first started - it's as you said - freaking scary. But overtime I realized the fear was really making it 100 times worse because the fear leads into an adrenaline response - which is not good if you don't need adrenaline LOL.

I've never taken Valium, so I can't comment on that. I would worry about it making you numb so you can't fight the fear with positivity, but I don't know enough about Valium to say.

I guess I'd start with;

Drink lots of water because dehydration can make you weak, tired and cause heart palpitations.

Watch blood sugar issues - these really suck and can make you feel sweaty, tired, heart racing, weak.. ect. Hypoglycemia and ect.

Magnesium and Calcium

Vitamin D (as I mentioned).

Vitamin B12

A supplement called Calm Aid is kind of cool - it's lavender but it does calm you down and it's natural.

L-Tyrosine is nice for the brain (clarity).

Might look into Adrenal Support, Thyroid Support and then finally another multivitamin called "Alpha-Betic" - this thing gives you great energy and can help people from becoming diabetic or pre-diabetic.

Aloe Vera gelcaps are good for regularity - or just take a good fiber supplement everyday.

These are the avenue I've taken to get out of the cycle. I have another medical issue involving a neck strain or inner ear infection but I won't depress you with all of that! lol

Well well well...someone seems to have done some pretty awesome research into all of this 🤗

You have a lot of knowledge...pretty darn cool if you ask me.

Thanks so much for sharing all that, I'll hit my dr up with it & see what she can recommend in Aus for me to take.

Thanks again
