Please help!

Okay so I'm really worried, I've been completely out of it for a good week. I feel like I'm just a by stander of my own life?? Like I'll be reading something and then I'll find my eyes going fuzzy and me not even realising what I'm doing. I don't know what to do? I've been having these panic attacks/major crying fits before and after school and there's nothing u can do to stop it, I'm getting these awful headaches too that won't go away at all. Also, I don't know if this means anything but I've been smelling and hearing things other people haven't like really high pitched ringing noises. My mums got worried about me and has rang up my school asking if they can support me but I don't want them to know anything, I don't want to open up to them as I don't trust them, also, I feel like whenever I'm in a room, the walls start to fall on me like I'm being crushed by everything, it's really hard to explain what Is going on but if anyone has any advice or any experience in this type of thing please let me know. It's really stressing me out and I feel like I'm going insane, thankyou

  • I'm not a doctor, but if I had to take a guess, I think you are having a major depressive episode with ongoing acute/chronic panic disorder. Hormones can cause many of the same symptoms you described also. It is probably a combination of both. Have you ever been diagnosed with depression or anxiety? If so, do you take medication for it? I think it is incredibly important you get in to see the doctor (start with your primary provider). It sounds like you are overwhelmed and life caught up to you. Do you have a lot on your plate? Were you feeling stressed out before this started happening? Any recent changes to your health? Life event changes?

Our body and mind can only handle so much before it decides it's had enough. I can completely relate to what your experiencing. I suffer from major depression, panic disorder, and ADHD. What a combo! I've had the uncontrollable crying attacks, the fuzzy brain syndrome, and know how horrible it is to feel the walls closing in. I've been to the point where I see and hear things that weren't there. Or so they tell me! The high pitched ringing and smells could be from the headaches, possibly migraines. Most importantly- try to calm yourself and take slow even breaths. Get to the doctor and don't be shy about what is going on. There is medication and other treatments that can help you. Please know you are among good people here, who have also dealt with these symptoms. You are not alone.

  • Thankyouso much for the reply, this has really helped me realise it's not just me experiencing this stuff, no I haven't been to a doctor I've barely told anyone, my mum has only witnessed the panic/crying attacks, I'm scared to go just incase they don't believe me or think I'm being ridiculous but I'm getting tired of feeling and experiencing this all the time, I don't understand why I'm getting like this, it's all of a sudden just been triggered and I don't know why :/ got any advice?

  • One time I was hearing a high pitched noise and didn't realize it was my laptop and I freaked out so bad I didn't know what to do. Since I make music I was afraid I was losing my hearing or something of the sort,

I really hate how our mind tries to convince us that something serious is wrong when it's really nothing of the sort.

Have you gone and tried to get a check up to confirm you're okay ?

  • No I haven't, I'm scared to go to the doctors as I don't want to waste their time :/ if that makes sense, it's been happening for ages now like it's been coming and going practically every other day, it's so annoying :|

  • If this makes you feel better one time I looked up ongoogle that I was having a bad allergic reaction, and I panicked and called the ambulance on myself and turns out I was completely fine. It was all anxiety

I fight with it so bad each day knowing that I'm fine but a little bug saying "nah man you probably gonna die" it's sad and funny at the same time

  • Omfg I can relate so bad, I have this tiny cold and I end up diagnosing myself with like stage 4 cancer, I don't understand why I do that😂 I was just wondering but how did you find out you had anxiety like what did u do? If u don't mind me asking

  • Sorry for the late reply lol but I found out pretty much by the time I was 19 that I had mild anxiety and it got a lot more worse the more I would feed into the negative thoughts so pretty much around 20 - 21 is when I pretty much realized I had full blown anxiety. I'm 22 almost 23 now and still trying to get it under control it's not as bad as it used to be but when I do have them it is bad and I always think the worst. I hate it

  • My mum rang up my school coz she got worried about my out bursts etc and they think it's anxiety, they've advised me to go to my gp but I'm really scared, I don't want to waste their time :| it's an awful feeling, do u always feel threatened?

  • I wouldn't say threatened but I always feel panic or fear of something health related happening to me so I take good care of myself or at least try to.

I'm usually fine then randomly hit with a spout of terror for no apparent reason

  • Yeah same, like that feeling in your stomach and you go numb and your hands start to shake and your eyes go blurry etc, it's really strange
