I'm sat here, I feel sick, I feel dizzy, like really dizzy! I have pressure in my head, my eyes can't focus, I am sweating, I literally feel like I am about to go as in faint, collapse, die... My head is spinning and I just don't know what to do!! Im trying to do breathing exercises and its not happening, I feel like everything has just gone weird.. I haven't had a panic attack like this before and I feel like phoning an ambulance!! Something is going to happen and I can't cope.. my shoulders are burning and I literally feel like some one is pulling me over and I can't stand up.. please help..
I am not a doctor , but sounds like this is a panic attack & when they are at their worse
I can sense & no how frightening they are & your mind will be going ten to the dozen adding to the attack
Sit down , have the window open & let some air in , & even though its hard , keep trying to do the breathing exercises , the best you can
The stress of yesterday & the worry it would have caused will no doubt have brought it on
Remember , I no you dont get your results straight away , but they do have a quick look as they are doing them & if they spot something major , I dont think they would have let you back home or would have been on the phone by now getting you back in , try & hold on to those thoughts
See how you feel in 30 minutes or maybe an hour , if you dont feel slightly better , then call NHS direct maybe or your GP , if you really feel you need an ambulance well then you would have to call
Let us no how you feel in a bit
Thinking about you
Love

I am already feeling better... I just had a little something to eat and a walk around and felt better... It just shows now it must have been an anxiety attack. Its so hard to tell yourself that when it starts to happen and your in the full of it!! I just feel knackered now and a bit light headed but im ok...
Thanks for your support! I have just called the Neurosurgeons secretary and she said if it was anything very serious I would know by now so that's good news I suppose! I think what scares me is how panic attacks can feel different each time I have them
Well done fedup
I do think this has been brought on by the fear of the scan you have had , which is understandable , you did well going for it , i dont think I could have even gone , so give yourself some praise
Try not to worry you will get one as bad as this again , I have had them myself in the past , but they are in extreme circumstances , but also remember it did pass
When we are hungry or our sugar levels drop , that can feel like a panic attack & if we have one on top can increase the attack , so well done again for managing to eat something & try & eat during the day , even if its little & often
They do leave you feeling drained & maybe shake you up for a couple of days , so rest if you can & be kind to yourself
I am glad you have made that call , I hope it will help to put your mind at rest , it is true , it cant be anything really serious , or like they have said , they would have been back to you ASP , or like I said , doubt whether you would have got to come home
Bet you are glad you didnt phone for that ambulance , you would have no doubt ended up in A&E all day , I no this has been an awful experience , but you worked through it & that is an achievement

can i just ask you, is anxiety a contributor to low sugar levels, I've been diagnosed with reactive hypoglycemia but this all started when i became anxious last year, do think this has some connection. Some days when i shake i don't know if its cos i need to eat something or anxiety??? x

hunnybug, I've noticed that I feel worse when my blood sugar levels would be low. So first thing when I wake up then mid morning. Once I've had my lunch I start to perk up a bit! My fiancé has also read that low blood sugar levels have been linked to anxiety.. not sure if this helps

yes it does help fedup and thank you. sometimes i don't know if the shakiness is cos my blood sugars low, my blood pressure low, anxiety or maybe I'm perimenopausal
oh dear what its like to be me. x

Hi hunnybug
I really am not sure , but some years ago I started with these dips in low sugar levels & wow , they were awful , I would sweat , shake , vision go blured , hands would shake & I would feel like I was going to faint
I had to eat quick & it was sugary things only that would get it to go back up & quite a lot of sugar as well
They tested me for everything & nothing could be found wrong
It would feel just like an anxiety attack but even worse, as I think the fear how I all of a sudden went brought one on as well
I do believe hormones can also play a part in getting these low sugar level drops as well in women
Luckily , I dont get them as often as I used to do , & I dont no why , but I try & make sure I dont go hungry , even though I have them now & again
I remember as well , i would always have a chocolate bar on me if I went out & if i felt a glimmer of the feeling , i would eat it
When you feel yourself shaking , why not try & eat something & see if it takes it away , even if you dont feel hungry , could give you an idea what might be happening
You will have to let us no if that helps

Oh Thank you for the hug
Get bits & bobs in that you can nibble on , even if its crackers & cheese of fruit , anything , it will help to keep it balanced

Hi fed up. I know how you feel. It's surprising how anxiety can affect you. Our bodies seem very good at tricking us. I think we all go through it on this site. The problem is its s convincing. Sometimes it's hard to believe its just stress. Good luck. Hope your results aren't long turning up.
