Should I?

Should I give the citolopram a try? My psychiatrist said its used for both anxiety and depression but I just read depression, I don't want to suffer with horrible panic attacks anymore and I don't know what else to do should I listen to him and take it?

Try it! You have nothing to lose. Panic attacks are the shittest thing ever, so it can't get much worse really. Jump at it with your chin up and think positive. The more you believe, the better drugs like that work.

They take time though, so don't expect an overnight miracle. Some take weeks or months before you will see the full benefits, so stick with them.

If you're having loads of panic attacks and can't cope - like me - then ask your doctor if there's anything you can take for the "right here, right now" until the antidepressants have time to take effect. Drugs like diazepam or propranolol etc can take the edge off your anxiety and reduce your panic in the mean time.

I personally take a combination of pregabalin (450mg/day), diazepam (10mg only when needed) and sertraline (200mg/day).

I had tried citalopram in the past, and for me it worked well for a while but then suddenly stopped working altogether. I've heard lots of people say citalopram has saved their life though, so give it a try and you could be one of the lucky ones who it completely gets rid of your anxiety.

The thing is I was taking Ativan 1mg for a few weeks and then had to taper down to 0.5mg but I want to get off of that completely but when I don't take it my panic attacks come back that's why I want to give celexa a try but I'm scared I'm becoming too dependent on these it's terrifying
