Sharp head pains

On the left side of my head I keep getting a sharp pain. It lasts for a couple of seconds then goes, then it comes back! It happens this time last night too! What could it be?

hi elley if you think theres a pattern to the headaches write them down and keep a diary to see if you can find a trigger as to whats causing this to happen then consult your doctor ! take care and the best of luck david

Hey! I used to have that along with a few other of my friends. It was just a serious sharp pain and it would intermittently show up and leave. Everyone I've talked to had this.

I also suffer with this intermittently. It to is my left side. Usually in my temple or just behind my ear. I can't shed any light for you as to what is causing it as I have no idea. Just wanted to let you know you are not alone

I'm glad I am not alone! I think it either may be due to stress or weather change for me.

Hi.I get that too.I looked it up once and found it was called Ice picks .No known reason why it happens ,so I don't worry about it now .

Hi Elley,

I had some sharp headaches like that for a while as well. I went to a TMJ specialist for my migraines (that I thought were unrelated) and it turns out that your temple/around/behind your ear is a fairly common area that hurts if you are experiencing jaw irregularities. I clench my teeth while sleeping, so this was putting a lot of pressure on those muscles and then they were spasming. This may not be your situation, but it's something to think about and maybe ask your dentist if your teeth are showing signs of grinding/clenching. Best of luck!
