i had a hip replacement in January of this year, everything was going great until about 5 weeks ago.I have now developed a dry tickly cough, 3 different antibiotics have failed to shift it and on top of that a blood test has revealed my haemoglobin levels have dropped from 14.8 to 8.5.My G.P has referred me to a blood specialist but at the same time he has taken me off my blood pressure tablets (Losartan 100mg,one daily andFelodipine 10mg ,one daily), my blood pressure at the moment is 132/80 ,does anybody out there have similar issues or failing that can anyone give me an insight as to what is happening.

coughing and low haemoglobin levels.
I had something similar.. I had a bad illness 18 months ago with Sepsis I was sent home from hospital after 3 weeks with no iron tablets and I had anemia unknown to me or my doctor for nearly 1 year.. throughout this time my RLS went through the roof.. I went on to ferrous sulphate my anemia improved and now if I miss a dose or go a few days on just one tablet instead of two my restless leg syndrome comes back I was also worried in case I have issue with my blood but I think, like you it was the trauma to the body of the illness in my case and the operation you had in yours.. my advice is let them treat the anemia and hopefully you will start to feel better again I hope so anyway x
Thankyou so much for your reply.I feel so much more reassured.Hopefully the blood specialist sees me very soon and then I can move on from this worry.
