Propranolol & low blood pressure

Hi all,

I’ve been on propranolol for a couple of months now, prescribed for anxiety and just looking for some advice from anyone who might have had something similar. The propranolol worked well for some of the anxious symptoms I was having, however I’ve started to feel quite light headed and uncomfortable about how low my blood pressure is getting with this tab. My bp is usually low, but getting to 92/63 and 85/63 at night. I’ve reduced the tablets from 40 to 20 and am going to taper off. Has anyone just stopped taking them altogether without tapering? Thanks

Hi Reb1, I wouldn't stop them abruptly without contacting your doctor first.

At one time I was on Propranolol and my pressure readings went as low as yours.

My doctor took me off it. It may be a good drug for some but everyone reacts

differently. Definitely call your doctor. It needs to be re-accessed. xx

Thanks. I saw the doctor not that long ago but they didn’t seem very concerned. Will try to come off slowly. Thanks

Reb1, I'm glad you saw your doctor and they want you to come off slowly.

That's good. I too did not like the way I felt on that med. Good Luck, I

have a feeling you will be feeling much better after you are completely off it.

Let me know. I care. :) xx

Psych drugs are like playing Russian Roulette. Sooner or later they are going to backfire. You must kick the medicine before you can heal. Try fasting, supplements, anything that will replace the medicine. Did you know that prescription medicine is now the number one killer in the US? That's right. Doctors using drugs have become a national menace. Using medicine is like clipping the wires on the engine warning light so that the light doesn't show. It leaves the underlying engine problem untouched while it gets worse until it can't be corrected or suppressed any longer.

It’s very hard to come off meds you’ve been on for years. I hate taking them.

Yes, I know. My wife got hooked on anti anxiety medicine. I believe it gave her constant migraine headaches. Ask your MD to help you taper off. Meanwhile surf the Internet for alternatives. I find that nine times out of ten a particular supplement does not work, but when I keep searching, I find one that helps. So you have to keep trying to find a cure.

There are basics that you need to do in any case. Nutrition is the key. Everyone in America is malnourished. You have to find a nutrition program that works for you. For example, only eat organic foods, and stay far away from sugar in anything you purchase. Also, don't purchase anything with more than one ingredient., and don't eat in restaurants. This will force you to cook your own organic food from scratch.

Currently I'm eating chicken that was raised without antibiotics. I'm also eating baked sweet potatoes for a delicious nourishing starch. Yams won't do, it has to be sweet potatoes.

Here is a berry supplement that is delicious and extremely beneficial. Yes it is expensive, but it only comes out to two dollars per day.

I wish you well...

Thanks. I’m going to keep trying to come off this bit by bit, then try changing some diet aspects too. Thanks again
