Heart Thuds getting me down

Hi all. I usually try to help fellow sufferers but in need of help myself now. After 24 hour halter tape I was told it was ectopic heart beats that was causing problem. My heart seems all over the place. Does anyone get the feeling that heart is swelling up and then gives almighty thud. I try to ignore it but sometimes I just want to drive home quick and lay down. Lately its happening one after the other. I am going through extra anxiety at the moment as my sister was diagnosed with terminal cancer four week ago . Thinking of going back to Gp for an other referral for possibly a seven day halter tape. Cant move on until I know everything is ok x
