So my buddy is having bad anxiety and hes new to it and he has a lot of chest pain, hes been to the hospital and they always send him home and tell him test results are good and its anxiety but he doesn't believe anxiety causes chest pain and thinks hes the only one. Can you guys out there who also experience chest pain with anxiety help set his mind at ease? If you have chestpain with your anxiety/health anxiety plz respond saying so. Thank you.

yep. I get chest pains everyday since april when my anxiety started. he is not alone, I have been to the hospital probably about 10 times, convinced something was actually wrong when there wasn't.
not only do I get chest pains, I also get shoulder, back and jaw pain. your friend is not alone. what he needs is frequent reassurance it's something which I wish I had during the times I was absorbed into my thoughts and panic from the pain....
for me, what I do when I get chest pains, I stop what I'm doing.. I literally blow out all the air I can, and then re start my breathing over again.. it really works for me, I think your friend just has to find what works for him!
ya man same here. See im a health anxiety sufferer and I told him I have chest pain everyday since it all started years ago but he thought I was just trying to ease his mind. I get shoulder and left arm pain too but im convinced now after being reassured by many doctors my health is fine.
Hello pizzi
Sorry to hear your friend is also suffering but yup chest pain sure is a symptoms of anxiety/panic attacks. I get chest pain a lot among many other symptoms tight chest hard to take a deep breath sometimes heart racing/ pounding heart palpitations irregular heart beat sometimes l
Yes chest pains or palpitations are a big part of anxiety, its the fight or flight mechanism, were the heart speeds up as if you are running away from something, everyone has this, comes from when we were being chased by sabre toothed tigers in the cave man days !.
Its just that people with anxiety are more susceptible to it taking over .
We are more sensitive .
