Yep same here when you have panic it can go threw the roof when I was very bad last year I used my Bo machine to help me bring myself back down my BP is 140 over 90 but shots up when I panic to 180 over 100 (according to my BP machine ) but yes but don't worry as you must be fit to have a normal BP that you have

To the gym today for me take care dude

Hi

Oh dear do you keep taking your BP yourself ?

If so I would suggest you stop it as it will only make your anxiety worse & your BP will be higher then when you take it

If your doctor is happy with your BP then believe them it's ok

I know its not always easy but they are the professionals & know what they are doing

When I go & see my doctor my BP is always high on the first reading as I am anxious , then they take it again & it is fine

Your BP fluctuates throughout the day , so you will always get different readings , that's why I would let my doctor take it , trust them & leave it be in the meantime :-)

Everything you say is correct if my bp is high I keep taking it and it keeps getting higher because I am anxious. What are we like xx

in reply to

Hi

I don't take my own , I refuse to buy those machines or I know I would be taking it every 2 minutes !

I do actually suffer with high BP & take meds for it but still have it checked but I leave it to my GP to do that as I have realized over the years she knows better than me :-D

I see you are visiting your son in Hong Kong , how lovely :-)

Hope you are having a wonderful time :-)

Thanks for that why why I am not looking forward to my flight home. I'm on citropram tabs been on them for 3weeks they are helping I'm only on a 10mg dose have to go back in a weeks time to my doc. What are your thoughts on the medication xxx

in reply to

Hi

Post on here if you can people will support you with the fear of the flight , you did well getting there I know you will make it back :-)

Do you mean the BP medication ?

I have a meds fear & with the BP meds it was a struggle getting me on them but I had no choice in the end so had to submit but it was a performance they had to gradually wean me on them but I am fine once I got over the fear

As for meds for anxiety , again I have never tried them because of my meds fear but they have worked for many & I do think if we can try them we have nothing to loose as we can always stop them if they don't suite us

Glad to hear yours are making you feel better & if they are I would continue to take them :-)

I too am on BP meds I didn't want to go on them but had to been on them for 20 years but I am now suffering with anxiety. Well why why thanks for your advice I fly tom night 23.50 Hong Kong time we are 8 hours in front of uk I usually stop of in Dubai and visit my daughter but am flying straight through

Hi

I think the best thing you can do is get rid of your BP monitor, whywhy is right the more anxious you get the more you take your BP if you don't take your BP you wont get as anxious. I know it's hard but give it a try.

Yeah it sucks a vicious cycle for sure. It will get higher and higher when th3 doc checks it. But if im calm and go to the pharmacy and check it at first its like 140 over 80 and then I breathe and relax and then its 120 over 70 ish. But if im anxious at the dr. It gets 160 over 90 ish sometimes higher with my pulse racing.

Hi

Well as you have said you do get low readings when you feel relaxed & higher ones when you are anxious which says your BP is ok & the reason why is can sometimes be higher is your anxiety

If your GP was concerned I am sure he /she would do something about it , so I would stop taking it I am sure you will be fine , it sounds like you have a little health anxiety that is making you worry over it , I would deal at looking at your anxiety & your BP will then take care of itself :-)

Yes I have health anxiety. Which sucks. Its my main problem. And every time my bp is checked it scares me. Its been high alot the last few weeks. And im worried im damaging my health.

I understand

I was really bad with HA , it can still try & creep in from time to time now & when it does I know the fear that it brings with it but I am a lot better than I used to be

I do actually suffer with high BP , but my doctor monitored it over a year or more to see if it would come down on it's own , it didn't so I take meds & its ok now

I was like you though at the time saying well this could be harming me & she told me that they take everything into account if you are in danger such as your age , medical history etc & at the time when she weighed all that up I wasn't in any danger , I am sure your doctor has done the same & that is why they are not concerned , it would be more than their job was worth to leave you with a high BP if they thought it needed attention !

The best advise I could give you is to sell or throw that machine away & stop taking your own BP , this will be something that is making you anxious & keeping your readings high

Trust your doctor & go there now & again & let them take it , tell them your fears & if they are happy & have no concerns you try & trust them , they have been in medical school a long time to give us their professional opinion :-/

Talk on here about how your HA affects you , people will relate & hopefully you wont feel so alone & you will be able to start to learn how to deal with it a lot better :-)
