I get a lot of chest pains and arm pains so if your anything like me it's anxiety. I especially suffer with this at night. Lets face it anxiety can give you aches, pains or sensations just about anywhere. Hope it improves. X

I am on sertraline but do not find this helps much. Have you heard of mindfulness? It is all about focussing outside of your body. Lie still and breath normal and steady. First focus on your breathing, in and out gently. Then focus on your your heart ( this sounds odd I know as that is often what you are trying to ignore but stick with it). Then focus on something outside. This could be the traffic or the tree's rustling, then back to your breathing, in and out gently. Then on something outside again. Try to feel the calmness of your surroundings and the workd going by and the increased calmness in your body. I try to keep focused on outside for a good while until I really relax. I know that's probably not a text book explanation but its my adaptation of a technique I was taught. Also progressive muscle relaxation is good If you haven't tried it. It really released tension. A lot of anxiety pains are due to tension. No expert though. X

I'm learning meditation which is similar to what u describe but find it hard to achieve relaxation. my mind tends to wonder a lot and i have to keep bringing it back. I have even joined a small group of meditation group as i'm want to be able to do it even if i'm by myself.

Matosh I know it will be difficult but I want to try mindfulness and have looked at a couple of books on amazon. I will think of you if my mind wanders. Thanks, x

Hi, I haven't been on in a while and was just reading through and this really struck a chord with me I practice mindfulness and meditation and struggled with it enormously until I found my bible lol and can highly recommend a book called a diamond mind a phsycology of meditation by rob Nairn please don't be put off by the name it's such an easy read a bit of a manual so to speak it is a wonderful book and helped free me a lot in terms of meditation I hope this could help you as it did me. Hey me also I suffer pain in all those areas too. I also suffer with palpatations and the feeling my hearts stopped or skipped beats. It's very scary but I had every test and Iam fine Aldo seen a heart specialist as I had what they calked a change on my ECG. However this change turns out to be normal for me but guess what I still have all these symptoms. It will ease but it's just scary and frustrating xx

Thank you LoopyL210 for replying it helps to know other people have the same. I have never had any tests only the doctor said my heart was fine. But the pain under my arm is a worry. Many thanks and take care xx

I get the same pains all the time. When they r not there i believe i'm 100% fine but when they reappear i panic. I can assure you they r anxiety related but for ur peace of mind get them checked out by the doctor.

All the best

Thank you for your reply. My Dr tested my heart but the pain under my arm is worse. Thank you for saying they are anxiety related as I kept worrying. Best health to you too.
