Have had some bad chest pain the last few hours. I keep telling myself that it's nothing but anxiety...doesn't work though. It's like I have an good and bad side fighting with each other. One said is saying "you're fine" the other side is screaming "deeeeath is coming"
Do you ever wish you just escape your own head just for a few hours...drift off and not have to think about anything.

Hi Ashley
Hope the pains have gone now
You were very worked up today & you no the sensible side of your head knows its your anxiety
I no what you mean though , I wish I had an on & off button so I could switch mine of when it starts
But as time goes on your sensible side will over power the anxiety side
Bit tired so answer may be not all that good , but wanted to say something because its you
Hope you get a good nights sleep

Dear Ashley27, I want to reassure you re chest pains. Over the past few years I've had such shocking chest pains.....mainly waking me up in the night. I was sure I was having a heart attack and ended up in A & E on more than one occasion. All tests showed no sign of a heart attack and docs put it down to terrific back/chest muscle spasm. My consultant at the pain clinic also reassured me that it was spasms....as those muscles are large the bigger more painful the spasm. Now when one happens or I feel one coming on, I get up, take a diazepam and pain tab immediately all the while telling myself its NOT a heart attack and it WILL pass. Have you been checked out? Not a bad idea for your own reassurance. By the way I'm 66. These episodes generally last 10-30 mins by which time the tabs have kicked in. I make myself a hot drink too. Take care...

Hi Coby
Thanks for your reply.
I've woke up today and it's still really sore, but your comment has reassured me somewhat.

Im sure the chest muscles will still be sore for awhile so don't be afraid to take something to ease the discomfort or a hot water bottle might help and its comforting too . Hope you'll have a better day ....inspite of this awful weather.....take care x
