I've been cutting out my middle dose of propranolol for the last week. I've not slept well the last 3 nights despite taking my Zopiclone. Is this linked or coincidence?
Don't have doc for another month yet so any wise words would be appreciated x

Hi Angel
I was wondering , you cutting this dose out ,was this something you have done on your own accord or had you previously spoken to the GP
Its just that when it comes to meds of any kind , I always feel its best to ask your GP the best way to reduce them , which you may already have
If you havnt , & you are not sure , you could try either asking for a phone call & have a word with your GP or phone your chemist , they are very good at giving you information
But taking that all out of the equation , I do think some of what you are feeling could be mind over matter , as I have a med fear & the moment I take one within hours , I think i can feel something & I also believe even though these meds dont have to be addictive , when our systems are adjusting to having less , we can feel something while we adjust , just like when we start them we sometimes do
It should I imagine settle down in a few days when your body has got used to it , but if you are not feeling comfortable , dont rush yourself
Let us no how you go on
Love

Thanks for replying whywhy.
I just decided myself to cut down as I struggle with weight and feel these don't help, not been anxious by missing them out but my sleeping has definitely changed so just thought it may be connected. Will give doc a call for phone consultation.
Hope you're feeling a bit better today xxx
O right , I can understand if you feel they are putting you weight on , last thing we need really , if we dont need to
Maybe they could even give you something different ?
Think I would ask for a call , not that it would harm you , but just to check , the best way , so as to not cause you any more anxiety than needs to , if you no what I mean
Let us no what they say

The sleep problem could be related to the propranolol, and it would be worth asking your GP if you could have some 10mg tablets and take a lower dose to see if it helps. It usually has no effect on weight. Unfortunately I'm on three medications which do!

I'm also on Propranolol - 40mg as and when required for last several days. I am really supposed to take them 3 times a day but have only been taking twice a day. I now have diarrhea which is a known side effect and last night did not sleep very well and woke up early, which I hate. I also take Zopiclone but am trying to reduce it. I am going to stop taking the Propranolol until I see my GP tomorrow as I don't think they are helping. Angel I think you should go back to your GP and tell them your symtoms and that you think the Propranolol isn't working. You shouldn't have to wait another month to go to your GP. If you are unhappy with your GP I'd suggest you change them. I am seriously thinking of changing my surgery. you can even ask reception who might be the best doctor to consult for mental health issues. Good luck.
Thank you for taking the time to reply. I really like my doc, she's just away on honeymoon and not back for a month. I could go see someone else but my anxiety holds me back from opening up to another doc. I did have the runs when I started the tablets but that's settled but the wakening up at 2am is driving me nuts (more nuts!). Had a terrible afternoon yesterday so ended up taking a the middles dose.
