Muscle twitching

Had this really bad all day. For the last couple of years had this fear of motor neurone disease, I don't even like saying it. All day my legs have been twitching and I am sure it is getting worse. All the doctors say I am fine but I know something is wrong, why won't anyone believe me. I can't carry on like this

Holly, this is muscle tremors , and is very common with anxiety, you can get them in legs back arms stomach, anywhere on the body, I had it in my neck a few nights ago, please try not to worry about them, they cant harm you, but uncomfortable.

I'll try and take that on board, nice to know there are people with similar problems, but I get so paranoid about it. Thanks for replying

I used to have tingling and funny sensations in my head. Don't worry yourself. This is a normal part of anxiety x

Seems its quite common. Keep telling myself that

Feel my family are sick of hearing me talk about it. It takes over your life

I have a family like that, so I don't bother anymore , I just think that when I am well, or stronger, I will be having a sort out, as if they not interested now, don't be when I am well, as I wont be interested.

Hi winter, good evening, hope you are good this evening. yes it is annoying. I used to get just the right eye do it, its gone now. Just think people who don't have anxiety get it as well,

Thanks bonnie and winter for your answers. I agree with family it's just take and no give. I seem to be doing all the giving. My middle son is quite supportive, he is a nurse like myself. My son-in-law called me selfish and really laid into me. It really upset me

When I started with anxiety , I focused on my heart , always thought I was going to have a heart attack & used to get all the pains in my chest & arms etc

Went to the doctors time & time again & they kept saying no you are fine

Like you I didnt believe them

Yet I had all these symptoms , so where were they coming from ?

When finally I accepted that is was anxiety they went :o

Since then I have come up with other health fears & thought I had got every symptom , & of I would go again , till after time & time of been told no , again I realized it was anxiety

When we focus so much on something we do feel all the symptoms & we do believe what the anxiety is telling us

I no its not easy , but with time you will start to let go of this fear & your symptoms will go

It would be more than your GP'S job was worth to not investigate , if they thought for one minute you had got this , believe me

This will get better , it does take time though , but keep talking &you will work through this

Good evening Bonnie

I am afraid to say , I am still in room & quite fed up now :D

I do feel as this seems to have become a bigger mission than I first thought , we could be looking at Friday before I can get round with my duster :D

I am having to moan , so they keep going , but between me & you , its starting to look very nice , but I wont tell them that they might down tools ;)

Thanks you are all so helpful. Just having a glass of whiskey to calm me down. If only I could learn to trust people. The doctor doing my CBT says this is typical of health anxiety. On a score of 0 - 40 I scored 35

in reply to

It takes time to learn to trust , but you will do :)

I hope so, I'm sure the doctors are fed up with me

When my lovely old dog died in March 2011 I was in a terrible state (well, worse than normal :-) ) and my left bottom eyelid started twitching all the time. Off and on it went on for a good month, then finally went.

No doubt anxiety.
