Hi everyone,
Does anybody here have night sweats? I often wake in the middle of the night drenched in sweat with soaking sheets. Can anxiety or stress be a cause of this?

Hi Scribbler I suffered with this before I started dealing with my depression and anxiety. It was aweful, but since I have been taking my anti-depressants and talking about my issues it has gone.
Hope this helps.

Hi
I am not sure had a quick look I think you maybe female ?
Hormones can play a part in night sweats at any age if you are
But even if you are male , either way , my GP has said & I have read this is a very common symptom of anxiety , night sweats
If you are really worried you could ask your GP as well
Also it has been warm at night , even though I no we arnt getting much Summer
Do you keep your window open a bit , I do
I also have a fan going all night , I no that wouldn't be for some , but if I wake up hot , I just reach over & put that on
Hope you might feel a little better knowing there are others with this complaint
Love

Thanks for the reply's, I'm a man Whywhy, well i have the right bits! I went to my GP today and she wants me to have a blood test, i'm glad it could just be anxiety. I've had the sweats on and off since March. I wondered why i was sweating so much when my flat was freezing!
thanks to you both for your help. x
Well that's answered me that one
Well see what blood tests come back like , they no doubt will be fine , then you will no its anxiety & keep talking on here & you will get through this

I have GAD and SAnD. I also suffer night sweats almost every night to the point where my bed is soaked through and I even need to replace my pillows and bed sheets.
I find, leaving the window open or having a cool breeze only excaberates the problem; as the cool air on my upper body clashing with my heated body under the covers seems to make me sweat more and attempt to stay under the covers more whilst sleeping as the feeling of it evaporating is so distressing.
My best advice is to keep a towel, and spare change of clothes beside your bed.
Best of luck in your recovery!
