Any comments on Zoloft?

I have been on 50mg Zoloft for depression for 2 weeks with absolutely no effects, good or bad. Am I expecting too much? My anxiety has me nervously waiting for change. Anyone here have experience with Zoloft, a similar or different experience? I would appreciate an inputs to calm my mind.

hi Cheetahone.

Your doctor should have told you that medication like Zoloft etc can take around 6 weeks before you might notice any signs of change. This is totally normal.

I anxious, but the previous reply helped. Are you on Zoloft, and if yes, how did it work for you.

I've taken Zoloft before when I had depression and it did absolutely nothing for me. I don't have depression anymore but I have an anxiety disorder.

I have been on a Zoloft a few times and only as an add-on to another antidepressant. If it’s no working after a few weeks being on it, contact your doctor, they may have to adjust the dosage.

you probably need to increase the dose. I’ve been on 300mg for several months and it’s loosing it effectiveness for me. I would only increase by 25mg every two weeks. I know it’s horrible to wait, but it took 3 months for me to feel better and I was raising dosages every 3-4 weeks. Again, anytime you raise dosages your brain has to adapt to the change. So technically, you’re almost restarting the clock for every dosage change. Honestly, the waiting on these drugs is the worst.

I was on Zoloft for 3 months. It started working after 4 weeks. Honestly I felt myself go numb with all sorts of feelings and didn’t like it. I started slowly tapering off after 3 months.
