Lowering zoloft

So I'm freaking out. I started weaning off zoloft and I'm feeling overly exhausted. I don't know it it's from lowering the zoloft or it's from intense stress. I feel sedated basically. And my anxious brain wonders if I have cancer. Please tell me I'm exhausted from lowering zoloft. I'm on day 4.

Hopefully you are following your doctor's instructions for the weaning off process. I have been stepping down off of Paxil for what seems like forever and couldn't have done it without my psychiatrist help.

Everyone is different and side effects from withdrawal seem to vary accordingly. So I would say check with the doc. I can, however, identify with having reactions. Wandering brain. Brain zaps. Extra anxiety and depression. Fatigue. Insomnia. Many things.

Is your doctor replacing it with another antidepressant?

We are replacing it with Cymbalta. It's a very slow process. So he had me wean from 150 to 100 but that was too intense so I'm not just weaning it to 125.

I understand. We had to work with what my brain and body were telling me. Sometimes we went down too quickly and had to do less of a drop. It's been a real slow process. But there is a light at the end of the end of the tunnel. I'm almost done. Yay.

I'm sorry you're feeling like that. My dose of Zoloft just got upped last month and tbh I don't feel a difference. Changes in stress definitely play a role. I'm also struggling with over thinking.

Ya, I'm a major over thinker. Hang in there.
