At church and panicking. What should I do

So, I officially arrived. To church. People are really friendly, but I'm super nervous they can tell I'm nervous. I'm moving my body in a reserved pattern. That's not super outgoing, and I'm wondering how much it matters. I am scared as you can be.

Can you fold your hands or put your hands to your side? That is restrict your movement alittle?

Try to concentrate on the sermon and not those around you. Remember why you are there and that God’s love is all around you. It’s ok to be different 🙂

No one will judge me for my jittery body language?

You can’t control what someone else thinks. Just keep trying to be the best version of yourself 🙂

You’re welcome. How are you doing now? Do you feel accomplished after doing your best at church?

Umm. Sort of. I isolated a good amount.

After church , you isolated or at church?

Either way is fine I believe. I need a lot of solitude. You always have other opportunities to be social if that’s what you mean.

I was like keeping my head down and only said the bare minimum to people.

I say the bare minimum at times. Give yourself credit for trying because we can only do our best and you did that.

Yeah. I did.

You made it!! People didn't care if you looked nervous. People are too concerned with themselves. Some were probably nervous as well! Some were probably thinking what they were going to have for lunch. Some could have been thinking, "Oh, I hope no one notices I have a stain on this dress"! And so on. And since they were all there to worship God, if they even noticed you were nervous, they would have likely gathered around you and given you a big group hug!! Church is a safe place full of love, kindness and acceptance! Jesus is so proud of you for doing this hard thing!! (He was sitting right beside you while you felt anxious. ) Congrats on persevering! We all care about you here. Sending you a big hug!

Well done, Eric - I'm so proud of you! Naturally you'll be nervous and self-conscious, but most of the other people will be too. If they make the effort to go to church they must be nice, understanding people.

It's all right to be nervous. The others know it's alright. Just go with the flow.

you answered your own ?. It does not matter. Not to them nor to yourself. Gotta let it go.

Hi Eric. I'm so proud of you for going to church and staying the entire time while you were nervous. The Lord knows your heart and God was so happy that you were there! I've gotta get myself back to church myself. I'm so happy for you that you overcame that hurdle with grace, determination and perseverance! Wishing you peace and well-being. ❤️
