Going to my mom and dads house for Memorial Day!

I'm super anxious about going to my parents house today, there is going to be so many people there. My siblings, my parents, my niece's and nephews and my brother and sister in-law. All i can think about is how big of a fool i'm going to make out of myself and that people will be able to see right through me and know what i'm feeling and that i'm super hyper vigilant. I'm afraid they''ll pay attention to me too much if I pay attention to them. (please don't comment on my post if youre not going to provide value, helpfulness and kindness).

Take breaks. I walk away when I feel there is too much and breathe.

Well to avoid paying too much attention to yourself is by talking to others. And to avoid pay attention to others too much, take breaks. And there's also other activities at a Memorial Day. Barbecue to engage in. If you're feeling overwhelmed you can volunteer to be clean up. Pick up paper plates and cups and go toss them in the trash. And if you have pets at this place, go find the pets LOL I like animals so I tend to play with cats or the dogs of the house of someone and kind of get lost with that. It helps with anxiety too.

Pets is a great idea if there are any!

This is a good thing for you Eric. You won't look like a fool. Most of the people there already know you, right? It should be a safe space, but you can always excuse yourself and go somewhere quiet for a break. I believe in your strength!

Thanks should I ignore the impulse that I have of thinking someone is paying attention to me and that they're judging me?

Absolutely. It's okay if someone pays attention to you. Think of it as they are interested in socializing with you, not judging you. It will be a good time.
