Should I assume I'm being normal?

Yes, you are being EricJones and there is nothing wrong with that.
The thoughts in not being normal or being so called weird has been
coming from your own mind and not others.
Stand up to who you are Eric. You sound like a well educated young man
who might have been put down at one time in your life. This planted the
seed in being unconfident in who you were.
Time to make that change. You can Eric. I've always believed in you now
it's time for you to believe in yourself as well. xx
You are normal until other wise. The only person I see who thinks of you being weird is you. You can be your worst enemy. I speak from experience. In working on speaking softly to myself. But to everyone else you are Eric. Shy guy but other than that just a normal guy.
So yeah assume you are normal and nothing is wrong. You just need to work on your confidence. Figured out where did you lose it and then how can you get it back. Speak kinder to yourself.

YES
You are normal Eric. People around you are thinking of their own problems.
Everyone is an individual, that's what makes YOU! If you listened to everyone, what a boring place this world would be, form your own individuality from YOUR own experiences! If you have been 'put down' by someone or somebodies, ignore them, NOW is the time as Agora1 says "for you to believe in in yourself" go for it👍
