TW: SH/urges/passive suicidal thoughts

Scratched myself with my fingernails at work today so had some bleeding going on. Was able to hide it though. When I came home, I was self harming with scissors, so texted the hotline. Kept self harming throughout most of the conversation but eventually stopped, even though I still want to. Still on with the hotline, made a safety plan with them, but not sure if it will work. At this point I'm not sure I care. Feelings are becoming more passively suicidal--not caring what happens to me, wanting to keep self harming, etc.

Slightly better than when I started talking to the hotline, thanks. Trying some of the things they suggested.

You need to be very careful with the self harm. We had someone on here a while back who did small wounds once too often and the flesh on her arm gave way and opened up a deep cut which required hospital treatment.

Try and find a less harmful way to try and feel something. I have heard snapping an elastic band against your wrist can help. Look for further answers online.

You are already suffering enough without all this. Please stop it and get some real help.

I can relate it’s embarrassing but I have a habit of scratching my head repeatedly daily till the bleed and picking off the scabs. Know that you are not alone, many people are going through this. On the past, I hit my myself badly and it just made my self esteem bad. Just know your worth. You are a person of value. Try reflecting on your strengths and practice mindfulness.
