September….living in the north, slight chill in the air finally, cleaning the fireplace in anticipation of being snowed in. Getting the ingredients to make Wassail ….the scent of the holidays. Dragging out the ice skates to make sure they fit. Begging for new ones if they don’t. Feeling the excitement is just around the corner. Memories are all that I have since I now live in Florida and I’ll always hold on to them…..For the Good Times.

Fond memories are a gift, they are placed in our hearts to warm us when we feel low.
They do help, but I’m not low. I’m happy as a lark that the temps are falling. That made me go to a good place, good memories.

A lovely post. Autumn is my favourite season.There's definitely an Autumn 'feel' in the air here in the UK although it is still quite warm during the day.
I haven't noticed. I will have a look.The shops and cafes are gearing up for Halloween and there are some lovely natural decorations in the flower shops. I love the spicy scented candles 🙂
I love this change of season. The air is so fresh and clean. Putting on a fleece or a sweatshirt is something I look forward to.
I've been noticing the trees slowly changing colors. Peak foliage is in a week or two.
Then the skates, hot chocolate, mittens and hats. With that comes the snow blower, shovels, ice melt, and waiting for the call that the office is closed

I love the change of foliage and the autumn colours. I'm still wearing long sleeve t shirts but it won't be long before I get the sweatshirts and jumpers out .I've just started making myself a wrap - (clothes one, not food lol).I thought I'd have a go at crochet.
That's awesome on the crotchet. You will have to let us see it when you are done.
I had an incident yesterday🙄. 🦔💩 in my sweatshirt sleeve. It's nasty getting him out without making a mess
now of course these all have to be raked up at some point

Gorgeous colours. Mine is a simple pattern, as its years since I did any crochet. I've cheated and used variegated yarn , so colour changes are easy😁That yellow on it is the light- not a stain lol

My memories are memories from childhood, not as an adult. I could enjoy all the wonders of the change of seasons without shouldering any of the responsibilities. I could muddy the floors and my mom would clean it up. I rarely had to shovel snow. My younger brother would cry if he had to shovel and that would end that. My dad would drag out the water hose and fill our side yard when he knew it would freeze hard overnight so whoever wanted to could ice skate. He chopped the wood for the fireplaces. Worried if he would make it to work driving through the ice and snow. I didn’t have to rake the fallen leaves, but I could make a mess playing in the piles. I appreciate that I was allowed to be a child for the change of seasons, but I also acknowledge how hard it can be for adults. I heard the groans out there, oh, yes, I did and do, of the people who dread the thought of what the seasons can bring. Move to Florida! Just don’t live near the water…….and bring sunscreen. SPF300. 😁

I love walking after a snow storm. Everything is clean and peaceful. There is beauty to be found once you find your stairs and sidewalk

I must try one. I like a treat🙂We've just started getting the Christmas stuff in the shops. Although I did see one place selling cards in July .
I remember when I was a kid shops didn't really start Christmas until about 2 weeks before. It was a treat to go up to London back then.
It's 55° this morning 🌞 and the Fall 🍂🍁 weather has arrived. Actually have to put on pants and a hoodie for dog walks today. I remember growing up in Minnesota and LOVING this time of year. Raking leaves and jumping in gigantic piles. Bonfires with s'mores. Mittens and 🧣 scarves and ICE SKATES 😉 and toboggans 🛷 for sledding in the park. The smell of the crisp cool air...all wonderful childhood memories.

It's been 2.5 weeks of craziness that I'm ready to leave behind 😉

I remember going to mainstreet in Alexandria MN where my grandparents lived. We'd go to Woolworths and Ben Franklin and fleet farm with all the holiday decorations and 🎄 Christmas toys 🧸 and candy 😄 we'd stop by the local Bakery and get Christmas cookies and goodies for breakfast the next morning. Love these memories.

My only experience of Breckinridge is of fracturing my back. I convinced my snow instructor I was ready for advanced slopes, lost it and crashed into a tree😫 Spent rest of trip in hospital/then hotel bed as my older siblings took great humor in my cockiness. Miss the snow being in CA but not the cold. I have such fond memories of making snowmen and replicas of our dogs, Saran Wrap around around our socks, long underwear etc and coming inside to a magnificently warm fireplace. Thanks for making me reminisce …great post. Made me smile.
