Xanax
Xanax is an addictive anxiety drug unlike the other two you were on antidepressants which can cause anxiety in some people. I would not suggest taking Xanax on a regular basis. It has severe withdrawal symptoms. And it's easy to get dependent on it. Have you tried hydroxyzine or Gabapentin? There's also the supplements Gaba, theanine, ashwagandha. These are safer than Xanax.
I assume some of those are over the counter? Thanks for info..I like Xanax and only take 1 a day...but I will look into others as i hate taking the other stuff. I just have to find a way to cope with all the crap in my life. But have to admit I older person not concerned about getting addicted at this age
Xanax is fine to use occasionally. It does the job. I would suggest you find what works for you. I take xanax, but not everyday and it's a pretty low dose. My doctor really controls my refills. I go though maybe 1 bottle in 3-4 months ( 1 months worth of pills)
Xanax/alprazolam works really well for me. But it's true that it is very addictive. During my first bout with anxiety, about 2005, I took .5mg three times a day. WAY too much, but I was a bundle of nerves. I was able to start weaning myself off it when I retired in 2023. I'm now on a very low dose (.25mg two or three times a day). I also take hydroxyzine, mostly as needed, if I feel a panic attack coming on. My doctor and I hope I can stop the xanax one day. I'm working on it (therapy, avoiding triggers, exercise, yoga). Bless you and good luck!
