I take Xanax as needed for a few years. I have noticed that when I go a few days with no pills at all my body tenses and I have panic..I have been under alot of stress lately but never had this issue. I should mention I take .25 to .50 a day as needed. 1 mg in a full day for severe panic attacks. Is it the Xanax doing this to me? I am also under going TMS treatment..so it could be that of course.

Xanax when it's really bad
Hi my friend, I can only go by my own experience when taking Xanax...It wasn't until I got off them did I see that they were the cause of my up and down
anxiety. Your brain can get dependent on the emotional relaxed feeling it gives
and then when the med wears off, it can trigger more panic and restlessness as a
sign that it needs more.
Ask your doctor with regards to getting your TMS treatments as to if that could
be causing the issue.
Try using some Meditation found on YouTube as a supplement to your treatments
as well your medication. It can be just as effective when practiced daily. xx
I have seen your posts on Xanax..I try to not take it for as long as possible. I think the TMS had triggered some anxiety and the psychiatrist informed me it will subside. I agree with and have been trying to take less xanax but with these treatments there are challenges. Did you taper slowly off xanax? I have been in it for 5 years as needed. I had a massive panic attack and was given my first bottle.
Yes, weaning was a slow process done through the help of my psychiatrist.I was on the lowest dose 0.25mg of Xanax every day for 30 years. When I kept
getting break throughs, I was told they were no longer working. Switched to
different dosages of Ativan that didn't do anything.
Wasn't until I was safely weaned off my benzos and placed on Lexapro did I
start to be in more control (along with my learning different methods of relaxation)
I do not know anything about TMS. Believe in your doctor, he is the expert and knows
your case history. I wish you well my friend xx
Hmm, I am wondering if it could be withdrawal or the TMS. I haven't tried the TMS yet, but have been seriously considering it. Do you think it is helping overall despite these issues inbetween taking it? I would ask the TMS provider.
Hello. The TMS shouldn’t trigger your anxiety to where your having attacks. Maybe the coil placement needs to be adjusted. Not sure what type of machine your provider uses. Do they offer anything else? AVE glasses?
I use Xanax to help me sleep but since doctors aren't keen on prescribing that very much anymore I was given Buspirone for daily anxiety which has helped me but I still have trouble figuring out my correct dosage. Too much I get anxious and have bad insomnia, when it's just right I feel flattened out in a good way. Maybe you can go off the daily Xanax and just use it when needed? and use the buspirone instead? It's non- narcotic so it's easy to get a prescription. Good Luck I think Xanax is great but we do build up a tolerance to it.
I was reading about Buspar. How long did it take to work? It's not an anti depressant which is good.
Almost immediately but they say give it 2 weeks at least. It’s not a miracle cure but it helps. And yes it’s solely for anxiety and none of the antidepressants side effects. Worth a try. Some people love it and some people don’t. It was a game changer for me although I’m still trying to figure out the right dosage for me. For me less is best
I be like this with Clonasepam. I'm prescribed to take it when needed but i can't make more than 3 days without it. I'm not addicted but anxiety creeps and leaves me no choice - It's either take it or have anxiety attacks untill i get a panic attack and a Breakdown. Have pathience with yourself, sometimes trauma is so stored in the body but i believe it will eventually get better. One year ago i had to take it every day
