I had my first panic attack 2 months ago and have had debilitating anxiety since. Nothing I do really helps. I’ve never experienced this before. Hoping someone might have some advice.
Thanks 🙏

This may not be helpful to you, but it often helps me when I get angry with my panic attacks. Rather than surrendering to a feeling of powerlessness, I get mad at it and say, "Bring it on! Do your worst!" If a doctor confirms with you that you are otherwise healthy and that it is only panic attacks, you might try standing up to it like if it was a bully. I learned that in therapy and it doesn't always work, but it does much of the time. For me, the most important thing to keep in mind is that it is harmless. It is unpleasant, but I choose not to let it ruin anymore of my day than it does. I just stopped taking it so seriously. If the doctor checks you out and you are healthy, try bossing the panic attacks back. I hope this helps.

This is Dennis Simsek the anxiety guy on YouTube. He's my #1 all time anxiety teacher. Watching and learning about mental health from scientists and teachers on YouTube was a game changer for me! Completely turned my therapy roadblock around.
I'll be 50 next year and I've only been on this self improvement journey since Jan '22. Be your own best friend and mental health advocate. I've been crushed by depression and anxiety since my mom died in 1994. Not until I took my healing into my own hands and heart did I start finding my path out of the darkness.
I applaud you for reaching out for help when you just recently started struggling with anxiety instead of being like me and carrying the load by myself thinking i didn't need help or support from anyone cuz I could do it "all by myself". Such a stubborn ignorant girl.🤦
I hope this opens mental health doors for you like it did for me. Knowledge is empowering. Teach yourself the way out of your anxiety...it's about your journey forward and forging your own path through life.
Thank you so much for the feedback and sharing your story. This gives me much needed hope! I’m going to check it out!
Good luck 🍀🤞 we're a funky virtual family here on HU. There's a lot of great supportive folks here that completely understand what it means to live with anxiety and depression.
I wish I knew there was such a meaningful experience with group therapy even though it's online. I've made more progress learning about myself and my relationship with anxiety especially in the last 18 months. Getting educated about it certainly helps defuse the confusion and uncertainty of the disorder.
HU is like motel 6...the light is always on, the door is always open. Someone in the world is always available to support you if you're in need😆😉
Life can be scary as we all have learned in the past 3 years and I truly myself believe a lot of current anxiety is a kick back from the past 3 years of pivot and turn way too much stress and constant change. Sure during it all we got through it daily but now the throttle is amped and is prime time to feel time going faster subconsciously. If I had to guess I'd say anxiety is currently at an all time high right now. If you need meds to help join the club😊 Meds help people feel better. You don't have to feel anxious see a doctor. It's nobody's business when you take meds . Good luck feel better soon
