So I have visited a friend of mine on a couple of occasions and they have an Alexa in their kitchen and once it even asked if I would like to introduce myself to it ( my name) 🙄 and I didn't bother, anyway i was round again the other day and all of a sudden, she or it,🤣with its computerised voice said the time for no reason!!!So then I realised she had just heard the umpire shout " TIME " on the interval on the tennis match 😳 from the television , boy, it shows that nothing is safe or secret from these devices, which leads me to technology in how our freedom or independence is gradually being taken away from us, smart meters, cameras watching you, digital currency on the horizon, biometric passports, are we actually losing are own ability to communicate without the AI intelligence that's now becoming part of " human " life or am I becoming cynical, I'm still at the old school where I like having money in my pocket, not getting scammed, or going to a shop and they say that the tills have gone down because of a computer glitch, but I'll be happy cause I can pay CASH 🤪🤣

The strange thing is that even though the word " Alexa" wasn't even mentioned it picked up the initial wording TIME and that's when it gave me the time, so obviously the dam thing is constantly listening, it's like having a secret microphone in your house, obviously it wasn't my property, but the fact is these things are listening !
Must admit I’m warming to Alexa but last week I was asking it something ….to find a song I think ,was in a hurry trying to narrow down the search and it told me to be patient and wait

I think there was a very old film called demon seed , something about a robot that took over a families home and even got the woman pregnant!!!

Our daughter gave us an Alexa one year for Christmas - neither of us were keen on the idea so we left it in its box for a year and then gave it to our son to « listen in » to our newly born grandson in his bedroom…
my Alexa figured out who my favorite singers are so she wont play them. She wants me to buy a subscription. She’s wearing me down. Im going to try to bargain a good deal with her. $@&;& lol

Alexa has a quite soothing voice. She tells me bedtime stories and lulls me to sleep. If I want her to sing lullabies, she brings up the subscription thing again. I always say no. I think she’s been giving me the weather from Wisconsin instead of Florida lately. She can be spiteful sometimes. I think she needs more practice in the sales department. So, I have my own PixieBob after all. Thanks anyway….lol

I fully agree, and I won't even activate the Internet of my Smartphone. I don't have a camera or a microphone in my computer. I have never even used an app. As long as I can make a call, or text, and take a photo, I'm fine. I couldn't stand to be haunted by a machine all day every day. If I can leave it home, I will! 
I detest the way the Internet has infiltrated homes. Not even a Ring doorbell, and my TV and Radio are still unconnected. I don't think it is safe, when even your everyday conversations can end up anywhere.
No way would I have Alexa in my house.

Yes, I know we use this form of communication on the forum, but even Martin Lewis was recently impersonated by AI technologies, a voice over and his facial expression were all computer generated, we humans are being exposed more and more to this sort of technology and apparently its meant to make our lives easier, for who exactly, people who want to extract money from your bank account, the day we take money out of society, and people aren't totally tech savy ,banks, financial institutions will perhaps control or government will then be in total control of your money, they will be able to press buttons and you are totally helpless, the Canadian government did something similar many months ago with the truckers, they froze their accounts, your mobile phone acts as an electronic " tag" similar to the same as prisoners, 15 minute cities, unbeknown you are being followed, while it seems fairly innocent, everyday a different rule will slip through parliament and facial recognition and your face is pinpointed from a camera stored in some sort of super computer, this is nothing about people saying well if you've got nothing to hide why should you fear these " rules " it's called FREEDOM, when you commit a simple mistake by leaving your car to long or you can't get the app to work, guess what, no appeal no more, the company will be going directly into your bank, no humans to talk to, just computer that doesn't understand how a human gets stuck , and rich person who wants to remain invisible , but a blue tick on twitter makes you feel better eh 🙄
Hi midora good to see you how are you, we don't have Alexa I'm getting away from internet this place limited more into TV again I find it gets addictive I've enjoyed some comedy on TV tonight but here I am back on 😂I don't have a computer or any gagits a laptop hardly used it's for photos we only have internet on phones, my house buy depends on a digital bank transfer Tuesday 😱💛🌟🐼
