I have posted questions here before, and appreciate all the excellent help. I am currently taking 150 mg Sertraline, and my pcp added 300 mg gabapentin daily. I do not see any improvement in depression or anxiety. When I asked him, he suggested switching out gabapentin. He wants me to take Buspar with Sertraline. I am looking for info on how this combo does.
Thanks

My Dr prescribed Buspar but it takes a few weeks to start working so I haven’t taken it yet. I prefer as-needed medications because they help in the moment. If you do decide to go with Buspar, I would love to hear how it’s going. Considering that switch myself. Oh - I’m on 175 mg of sertraline and take 1 mg of klonipin as needed
Good combo becar3ful w Buspar it can make u dizzy and deal like u pass out the first time I took it I'm on gabbapentin prn now it helps a little u will get much better results w Buspar in my experience I have been on all of those meds
I took buspar with Lexapro from my pcp and neither helped me. From what I was told, the buspar helps boost the effect of the SSRI you're taking, it's not given alone. After that, I saw a psychiatrist who prescribed gabapentin, 300 mg 3xday and that had a huge effect on the uncontrolled anxiety I had. So much so that I was able to wean off Ativan, buspar and Lexapro and start from scratch to try and find an antidepressant that would work. Auvelity ended up working for depression and I still take 400mg of gabapentin 3xday for anxiety. If you're only taking 300mg of gabapentin a day, you may want to get an increase in dose before giving up on it. If you're having trouble finding medication that works, I recommend seeing a psychiatrist rather than your pcp.
