Sertraline and Wellbutrin combined ?

I am on 75 mg of sertraline. While my anxiety has been better, my depression seems worse than ever. I can barely get out of bed each day and have lost interest in everything I used to love to do. My dr wants to add Wellbutrin. Has anyone ever taken 2 anti depressants at the same time? I hate the thought of it but cannot go on like this. Thanks.

Two different classes of drugs

Seratonin and nor epinephrine

I've been on them both together

Thank you for the response. If the nor epinephrine In Wellbutrin is the same kind that I had administered to me when I was at the dentist for a root canal years ago and my heart went crazy palpitating, then I think I will stay away from it!

What happened when you took them together?

I had no problems with them together

I think you should talk to your md or pharmacist about the dental med and reaction. I can't answer medical questions.

Very hard to say. So much going on during that time. I was taken off it so I guess I would have to say no it didn't work.

Everyone has different issues though so all you can do is give it a try and see what happens.

Thank you. I have so many issues that it is hard to find the right meds to help, Anxiety, depression, ptsd...it’s been quite a battle for the last year. Have tried multiple anti depressants. Never needed anything until major life changes occurred.

Wellbutrin helps with energy levels but not mood so much. Its tricky as its often trial end error to find what works. Sertraline is also energising.
