Hi their I was wondering I have being taking sertraline 50 mg around 6 weeks now, I was getting muscle aches which I put down to after a bad chest infection I had beforehand, However now 6 weeks within taking sertraline all my joints hurt, right shoulder ,knees, ankles, wrist and spine feels like its pounding!!?

Burning under collarbones, I was wondering if anyone could be familiar with this.

I'm still undergoing tests have had msk team say I may have fibromyalgia but still awaiting other referrals.

Thankyiu so much for your time.

Yes, I have same side effects , pain in the muscles and joints, and I cannot take it any more. I thought that they would go away after initial phase of taking sertaline but I’m on it for 7 months, now, and still experience such unwanted symptoms. In addition to having all that , I continue having nightmares, heavy night sweats, some brain zaps and occasional pressure headaches, which are something new to me since headaches were foreign to me before in my whole life. Why did my doctor switched me from Lexapro to Zoloft, I have no clear answer. I’m out of the country now and I won’t do anything to disturb my routine but as soon as I go back home, I’ll seek further answers. I hope you find your answers too. It really is hard to find the right match of the best medication for each individual patient. Don’t give up.

Thankyou for your reply, I was wondering if you get any shoulder or spine pain? Also one sided pain what's a little stronger? 5 weeks on these symptoms aren't going anywhere scared it could be something else and not the tablets

Yes, I got a permanent—almost right shoulder/upper at]rm pain. Wtf...I don’t know what’s going on...it’s frustrating to say the least.

Oh my yes! Same thing here. My doc just told me she thinks I’m a poor metabolizer. After 5 weeks things should be getting better not worse. She is helping me cut back. She says no two people metabolize at the same rate. 50mg for one is fine the same dose for another drives them up the walls. Some people do better on very low doses. A poor metabolizer doesn’t take up the med well leaving most of it circulating instead of going where it should leaving you open to increasing side effects. I’ve always had trouble with meds so it doesn’t surprise me. Hope that helps.

Wow! I'm stuck between thinking it's a respiritory issue or as to weather this meds actually making all my joints hurt, I just thought it was odd for my spine, like I can feel it when I'm bending forward, I just find it hard to believe my right shoulder is in pain constant and under ribs. Yes interesting that I never used to even like taking paraceatomal before all of this so I feel quite the same with my body and meds.

Thankyiu for replys!!

Sorry it took me so long. I’ve been working and dealing with a sick cat. My side effects started almost immediately and just got worse not better. Aching muscles, nausea, vision problems, sore joints. It also makes my tinnitus worse. The vision and nausea are getting better on a lower dose.
