I can go a couple of days just about coping and then I fold and feel I can't take no more. I do have a lot of physical ailments to cope with as well and no family to talk to as they have passed away. I just don't know how to keep the anxiety and depression away and feel there's only the cowards way out, but I want be stronger than that. Please good people of healthunlocked have you just got any small tips which could give me a glimmer of hope. Why do I feel so depressed so much
Hi there,It sounds like you need a purpose in life; something that will give you meaning again. Am I correct in this?
Have you tried volunteering for something or joining a group of some sort?
Hi Jonnylongton, I was very down for several years, and I’m still down on some days, but it’s not as grim as it was. I ended up giving meditation and mindfulness a shot, and after a few months, I could really feel a difference. In that time, I also started walking every day. I know you said you have physical limitations, so I don’t know if walking is an option for you, but even if you can do it for a short time, it might start to help. In addition to walking, I also do light aerobics most days (Richard Simmons’ Sweatin to the Oldies on YouTube). It helps increase the endorphins which makes me feel better. If that is too much, YouTube has some limited mobility exercise videos that might work for you. I am wishing you the best!
Good morning,
How are you feeling today? I hope that you are feeling better!
You know, life sure can be tough to go through sometimes. Sometimes it can be a short storm of life and others it can take a while to get through it. Last night, when my husband and I went to some friends last night and we watched a programme on tv. This man named David Revoer gave his testimony. - It was quite a story! I will give you the short version summary of his testimony.
" He is a Vetnam Vetran. He had a grenade blow up near his face and it blew half of his face off and then he rolled into some toxic water not realizing it was toxic, hoping to get the flames off of him. The water went down his throat and into his organs and should have killed him instantly again!
He went through 62 surgeries over the years to peel the burned skin off and reconstruct his face, and hands, repair his vital organs, and repair the muscles in his feet and legs... He is blind in one eye. He wears a wig...
Today 20+ years later he started volunteering and speaking at different engagements. He flies all over the world telling his story to encourage people, who believe that there is no hope or purpose in life anymore.
We all have some kind of ailment in our lives. I found that the best way for me to find purpose in my life is to get out and help others.
What kind of hobbies or interests do you have or like to do? how can you use them to help others?
I have a dear friend who is struggling to live with cancer day by day! He uses Facebook to tell others about the love of Jesus and how He is helping my friend find peace and love through this life-threatening trial of cancer he is walking through right now.
I have another friend who was bedridden for a long time and thought that she could do nothing except stare at the ceiling. Then she felt led to start praying for people who came to her mind. Today she has recovered and is a wonderful missionary working with special needs people overseas.
God is good! I am positive that you can find something that will work for you to help someone else out!
God bless!
